I think the gray fog or monster is the guy who appears at the final episode 5th season siting next to jacob, "do you know how much I want to kill you" tells the guy to jacob, and jacob answer "I'll be waiting for you in this same place"(underneath the statue) so, now jacob is death because the gray fog or Locke killed him. Locke is the gray fog.

Because in the Bible (Genesis) Jacob's brother is named Esau. Alot of people think this guy is JAcob's brother. Esau, in the Bible, was sort of an "anti-jacob" because he hunted, was hairy, and was a daddy's little man. Jacob, on the other hand, stayed at home and cooked, didn't have much hair, and also was a mamma's boy. Jacob stole the birthright from Esau, but God still allowed Jacob instead of Esau to be in the Patriarchs of Israel and the Lineage of Christ.

@JandMTalkshow Yes, I know the story about biblical Jacobs brother Esau, but why would you assume that Jacobs Nemesis on Lost is Esau? This hasn't been said or hinted at on the show. His name isn't "Esau" until stated on the show. It's like claiming that a character named Ben is going to have an enemy named Charles because that's how it was on Lost. He's Jacobs Nemesis, and that's that!

okay,dude. I never said that it WAS his name. It's just what i call him since he's nameless ATM. why call him the nemesis? Same concept. We don't KNOW for SURE that they're Nemesises. You don't HAVE to be someone's nemesis to want to kill them. Brothers can be nemesises and not want to kill each other. A nemesis can just want someone's reputation ruined or tweaked for the worse. Esau is just a name. AntiJacob is just a name. Nemesis is just a name. I'm not CLAIMING anything. I just use knowledge
