saw them at Bumbershoot in Seattle and it was the BEST; they blew away every other act that day and there were a lot of good ones! Great show and band; better in '96 than they were "back in the day" with Sid although they may have been funnier back then...
@indcore I was at their Bumbershoot gig as well.... found it hilarious that smoking was not allowed anywhere on the grounds, so Jones came out on stage puffing on a cig. :-)
@indcore good way to put it man the only thing that i dnt like is the pil voice lydon is usng these days. back in the day however they made that great record... nevermind the bollocks dnt think it wudve been the same now u kno but gud way to put it...
If I have to read one more comment about how great Sid was because he "looked" more punk than Glenn I'm going to puke. That's exactly why Sid didn't pan out, he was more concerned with his look than anything else. Sid's life is a perfect blueprint of what not to do as a musician.
@mrsinister03 What are you thirteen? Go back and learn your history, actually better yet go find some old timers to talk to. The fact is that Sid was so tuned down on the masters of Never Mind The Bullocks he's hardly present on it at all. Now if they didn't give a shit about their music why would they make a decision to cut out the weakest link. Don't kid yourself, they cared.
@seebehtoolan I think the band WANTED to be about music, and MacLaren has succeeded in pasting this 'chaos' image on them. Which is why the Filthy Lucre tour was so great, the band got to be A BAND, on their own terms, period.
No, it's as well that Sid wasn't there in fact, because this is the original Pistols reunited with the original and best bassist Glen Matlock, almost 20 years after Sid replaced him. That's why the band sound so tight here.
I hung out backstage all day before this excellent rockin show and then got front row seats, it was the best concert i ever saw. Jonesy is just crankin man.

GO GO GO JOHNNY, you're the man !!
I don't understand why people like...sid. he was obssesed with his own look at it makes me think at him as a poseur, not as a true punk.
Johnny, Steve, Paul & Glenn forever, the Sex Pistols.

Glen plays better but I'm afraid Sid is still better. Remember, the Pistols are not about music but about chaos! For tat, Sid was THE MAN!

Glen is an amazing bassist but Sid (I think) Fits more with the pistols.

I've always liked Jones. He plays a mean gituar. His style is unique.
Basically all four of the original Pistols, Lydon, Jones, Matlock and Cook make up a very tight and under-rated band.

@3820 I couldn't agree more. I also love Steve Jones playing and his whole English I don't give a fuck personality.
