I know my father is... but I still feel like I can relate in a way. My Fathers not in my life, and he's tried to get in it after the divorse but I cant forgive him for the things he'd said to my mom and the drugs he did right in front of me since birth. He hasn't changed so why let him in my life? Maybe once he changes -if he changes- I can try to forgive and forget but for now its easier to not have him there, a reminder of my shitty childhood.

My dad left me my mom and my younger brother when I was 4. my mom married another man when i was 7 my step dad constantly screams at me and tells me i always doing something wrong i'm 12 now I've had to deal with that for 5 and a half years when i was 10 my mom bought my family a puppy I loved her so much and she was the only one that seemed to care a year after we bought her she growled at my 1 year old sister and my mom and step dad put her down to this day he blames me for her death

My dad left when I was 2 weeks old. I only got a birthday card, a phone call, and nothing else. I was 4. Now I'm 13 and I still know almost nothing about him. There isn't a time when I listen to Sum 41 and can't feel emotional honestly Sum 41 is my favorite band of all time and they really put their all into their music and I honestly hate all the people that think they're not even trying anymore. @Tomsedated Honestly I would go visit him maybe he isn't the guy you might think he is? My father doesn't even visit home anymore and he left to live on a ranch when I was about 8 and he doesn't want to help out either. I looked up to him, but now I despise him. Try giving him a visit. Maybe it will make you feel better about a few things.
@Tomsedated I know that this response is a bit late but I thought I would respond anyways. I will be turning 19 in June and once again my father is in prison. My dad has been in and out of my life since the time I was born so I feel as though I don't know him. If I were you I would see what he is like and if you don't like him then cut off communication but I think you should give him a chance just so you know what he's like. My dad never met his father and he's regretted not taking that chance.

My dad left me my mom and my younger brother when I was 4. my mom married another man when i was 7 my step dad constantly screams at me and tells me i always doing something wrong i'm 12 now I've had to deal with that for 5 and a half years when i was 10 my mom bought my family a puppy I loved her so much and she was the only one that seemed to care a year after we bought her she growled at my 1 year old sister and my mom and step dad put her down to this day he blames me for her death

There isn't a time when I listen to Sum 41 and can't feel emotional honestly Sum 41 is my favorite band of all time and they really put their all into their music and I honestly hate all the people that think they're not even trying anymore. But it's true they don't try to make music because in reality the music is who they are and that's why I appreciate Sum 41 more than any band right now.

@Tomsedated Honestly I would go visit him maybe he isn't the guy you might think he is? My father doesn't even visit home anymore and he left to live on a ranch when I was about 8 and he doesn't want to help out either. I looked up to him, but now I despise him. Try giving him a visit. Maybe it will make you feel better about a few things.

My dad has been in and out of my life since the time I was born so I feel as though I don't know him. If I were you I would see what he is like and if you don't like him then cut off communication but I think you should give him a chance just so you know what he's like. My dad never met his father and he's regretted not taking that chance.
