what are you talking about? by the director are you talking about me, for making this video, or Timothy Albee for making the actual movie?

Timothy Albee who is the director animator etc,etc of Kaze the movie. As i know he is doing some special effects on Galactica Serie that´s why he has no time.

I think he said in the making-of on the dvd that he did about 30 seconds a day. That's a rushing pace. So he spent most of the 6 months setting everything up, when went in and did the animation as an afterthought, when it should have gotten more time than any other step.

i'm glad its not a flame war. i have no intention of that. if you want to post some shot-by-shot examples of good animation i'd like to see it. I've done quite a bit of character animation, and have fairly trained eyes for fluid motion, slow in-slow out, that "alive" look, the 12 principles, etc, the whole thing looked like he just put each shot through a preliminary blocking-out, then went on to the next.

My apologies. I am a photographer, and I have a "dream project" cg animation, but I admit I don't have your skill-set. I guess my views were more from a layman's standpoint, and fan of anthro CG animation.

well you probably know more than me about photography

if you watch it a few times (the whole 20min version) you can see it, there's actions that are done with only 4-5 keyframes, and you can see where the keyframes are, meaning the splines haven't been changed. it begins to pop out at you if you go back and rewind the shots that show it more clearly (ie the worse shots)

Kaze Ghost Warrior is the best piece of anthro CG animation out there, IMHO - you are free to agree or disagree with me as you wish - this is not to start a flame war.

actually I thought the animation was pretty bad. the modeling, texturing and lighting were good, and it had a good story, but the animation just sucked.
