  • Most enjoyable video and song! Beautifully combined! Would've been great if you could've managed to put the place names into the video..maybe somewhere at the bottom? However, I work in a museum and have recommended your video to all here..! Regards, Maureen

  • @Dezmau Thanks Maureen, I will do the place names on my next one

  • At 1:55 a great photo of Main St. & Church St., Listowel, Co. Kerry. In this photo, the shop-front in exteme right, at edge of photo, was that of my grandfather, Martin Sheehy, & later my father, John ( Jack) Sheehy.

The others pics of William St. & The Square ( with St. Mary's & St. John's Churches) very much appreciated.

(Dr.) Martin ( ' Marty ') Sheehy of Phoenix, AZ & formerly of Listowe.

  • In this transfer, Killarney comes out a semitone sharp, in B flat instead of A major.

Likewise Kathleen Mavourneen comes out in A flat instead of G major. If these derive from the December 1906 Odeons, they were recorded at 74rpm, and thus come out a half-tone sharp played at 78rpm. The early Victors of 1910/11

were recorded at a fraction under 78rpm, and thus come out almost in score pitch at 78rpm.
