Incorrect. One of the reasons we call ourselves the "restored" church is because Christ restored his church to the Earth as it was when he left it (with the priesthood intact and functioning). Christ passed his authority on to his apostles. Peter, James, and John passed it on to Joseph by the laying on of hands. Growing up in the church, I always had the opinion that this doctrine was weird! This doctrine is nothing more than 19th century racism. There were several older guys I knew that were very angry and some quit the church in 1978 when the priesthood was opened to all men. Doesn't really matter since this faux priesthood is just a self righteous badge for men.
