I was here as well, what a memorable concert, i remember it was so squashed my feet left the ground for about 10 seconds in the crush. Awesome footage, i as well am so surprised to see it as it was 15 years ago.
I've never been a big Pearl Jam fan, but I have always been impressed with Eddie Veddar's openness about the bands that influenced him. His unmitigated showings of respect for the Who, the Split Enz and other influences gets him a big thumbs up from me.
I was at this gig, the one when Eddie went for a surf at Raglan and nearly drowned! This vid takes me back to being on the stadium floor and loving life, and I've never felt it as good since!
Someone threw what looked like a balled up sock at Vedder when he was talking to the crowd and he casually caught it in one handed and threw it back as the crowd cheered.
Another thing I remember was some stoner collapsed in the heaving mass and was about to get trampled, so I dragged him to his feet and man-handled him to the edge of the crowd, where he managed to walk off on his own steam...
@SD78 haha, yeah that was crazy crowd.. I was there both nights, and the first night i was right up the front and the barrier started bending with all the weight of the corwd.. i thought i was going to get trampled!! Where did you find the video?
This is one of the quintessential new wave songs and Vedder is a great singer, but, this version really drags along. It's too slow. I feel sleepy now.
@airevolt1 I read your comment before I saw the vid and felt like down-rating it! Then I watched the vid and I've up-rated your comment because you're exactly right on all counts. Shame, too, dammit!
Thanks for posting.This was an incredible night.Hot,humid and a great band playing all their songs from Ten and Vs.Eddie Vedder was so concerned for the crowds safety.From memory he started by doing a solo version of Hunters and Collecters "Throw your arms around me"Brilliant ..........what a talent.Been a fan ever since.Cant wait to see them next month.
Didn't know this video existed.....I was there front row centre stage ....it was mad......! started with a stage with heaps of lit candles...blew one out after every song.....just brought tickets to their show at the same spot in November
this is why I love youtube

@LittleMarky1976
I was at the second show in Auckland.
