Wes Anderson is amazing. I love every single thing he has done. Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, Royal Tentabaums, Life Aquatic, and Darjeeling Limited. If i left anything out please let me know so that I may watch it. This video by the way was not good, the pacing of the editing was bad and the music obviously does not fit the images of Rushmore. It would have been better Ooh la la from the faces which was in Rushmore.
This song "Strangers" is in Derjeeling Limited, not in Rushmore, but it's one of the best Kinks's songs. Hopefully we will listen in the next Anderson's movie the songs like Shangri-la, Two Sisters, Dead-end street, Rosy won't you please come home...
this song is not used in rushmore, nor was it used for the theatrical trailer. this is a fake trailer. good song of course, but wes only used it in darjeeling
yeah, and that is what makes no sense. a montage of rushmore footage, with a song from darjeeling - intended as a promotion for darjeeling? it is confusing and clearly just a fan-produced video.
It reminds you of a few of the things that make Wes Anderson a miracle among filmmakers and it gets you psyched for his new movie. It's like how on comedy central they show shaun of the dead in promotion for hot fuzz.
On his first Album, called Fidatevi...go check him out on myspace....i think there is a link to buying his records there...His voice isnt quite as melodic, but still a great cover..definately worth a look.
i wont deny that. but the guy is in punk band. his voice is not the issue. I was just point it out. i like to see artist that im a fan of, being influenced by another band i like. Besides, its not that bad....i think its quite a nice version. Obviously Davies is better though, agreed.
it's called "Strangers" and it's by The Kinks. it appears on their album "Arthur, or The Rise and Fall of the British Empire". listen to some Kinks songs here on youtube to catch a whiff of the great storytelling/songwriting skills of Ray Davies, although this one was written by his brother Dave.
his films are so weird but somehow i feel connected to it

I like Dave Davies voice for songs like this. He's nothing if not passionate. You should also check out death of a clown.

I love this song. And the fact that Wes has used it in 2 movies solidifies the fact that it's the best song ever.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
his voice sucks. Ray Davies is much better.

Don't mean to be a dick, but Dave actually sings this...not Ray.

Yeah, I was, but Life Aquatic wouldn't rip on my computer. So I just did Rushmore cause it was my fav.

you should have made a combination of all his films so that it would have been more of a promotion
