nah....definitely not a good one for auditions. I'm voting for Regina Coeli and Der Abend. But (and I think we'll all be in agreement) not Zigeunerleben. I like the song, but I'm pretty sure my mouth is not supposed to form those particular words at that particular speed xP
I know!!! I will not be happy if there it is...but somehow I doubt it is just because it's so broken up. But I guess it's still possible. I'm hoping it'll be Regina and Der Abend xP
ohh Regina Colie...what a song, what a song! lol. i'm actually hoping that the audition piece is hear my prayer. :) but thats probably not going to happen. lol
Haha, I know...that would be nice. Marianne would be a good one too :) Maybe they'll just pick easy ones because everybody works on the hard ones...oh, wishful thinking xP But it'll be all over in 48 hours (thank goodness xP) :)
I'm definitely ready to have it be over xP I'm just glad that in 24 hours, not only will auditions be over, but we'll know chair placements. I'm so excited/nervous about the whole thing...well, cya there! (oh wait...I don't know who you are. Well...I'm sure I'll see you anyways and just not know it xP)
You are right about the effect of the undulating choir. This is especially noticeable during performances of the much detested Orff "Carmina Burana", where certain members bob and weave to emphasize the percussiveness of some of the movements.
WOW, this is a little-known piece but quite impressive and one of my faves! The diction and pace are great, and wonderful sound quality for a live recording! 5/5
why is it called valiant for truth? can somebody help me to define/understand the name?
greetings!

@FallaciesDetective It's called Valiant for Truth because it is based the speech given by Mr. Valiant-for-truth in John Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress.

Nice...luxurious tempo! Well done, men, especially! This was one of Robert Fountain's (Oberlin, U of Wisconsin) signature pieces.

I absolutely love this piece, have ever since I did it in college, but do you ever notice that watching a good choir can make you a little seasick?
