  • Simply the best, roll on Cardiff in December.

  • they are underrated , ive seen them twice and they are fantastic

  • @grant1133

    Seen them twice too. Amazing!

  • I wish this was on the Live Aid DVD! I love this song on the live album in the 'From The Makers Of' box set!!!

  • Rock 'n' Roll at it's very best!!

  • after four FOUR lmao!

  • There is a real good time, good natured spirit to this music.

I saw Quo live in Sydney in the mid 70s. Great time.

  • Rossi is so bloody underrated - what a player

  • @paul12345646 Have you ever heard the 4500times from 1982....that is a masterclass for any budding young guitar hero!!

  • @thesnowdens oh yes - it is amazing, I actually have it on mp3

  • @ balouinon - erm, well, it's a simple joke that Francis cracks. Instead of the usual 'after four, 1, 2, 3, 4' count-in he says 'after 4, 4!' Simples innit

  • The Finest Rock and Roll band in the land playing to an amazing audience!!

  • 'After four, four!' Classic!!

  • @catslikefelix2008 I'm french and i don't understand the meaning of the sentence or of the joke. Can u explain me please??

  • top tune saw them m/cr apollo 1977 it was brilliant been deaf ever since

  • this was good but you should have been in glasgow appllo in 1977 it was fuckin great make that balcony move a bit your right we did long live quo

  • @jimmypiper1 Bloody hell. You just brought back some memories of Glasgow Apollo.... A 13 foot high stage for a start (I was a roadie back then). Van Morrison's first time there he walked out to the mic at the front and nearly shit himself. Has a fear of heights!!

  • They take Chuck Berry and turn him up to 11.

Facebook Get Status Quo to #1 - buy this track on 5 July 2010. The best idea for a long time. Who knows what will be next.. a campaign to get Roy Orbison on Radio 1, Mott The Hoople, Cheap Trick? Just to remind the youngsters that their folks' (grandparents?)music was more than just Abba and The Bee Gees(excellent tho' they are).

Quo deserve. Quo vadis. Quo forever. Quo-ly Moses. O Quo. Go Quo. OMG Quo.

(And Van doing Caravan on The Last Waltz).

  • Bye bye alan byebye alan be good!

  • GREAT!!!5*****

  • absolutely firkin brill.....quo..ohhhhhh.hhooooo

  • only a portion of this song was shown in the states. Trying to track down Live Aid complete for 25th anniversary this July. So thank you!!

  • First appearance of the ponytail, I believe (in the video for The Wanderer a year before it was plaited, so that doesn't count!)

  • No wait, I stand corrected,in the promo video for Marguerita Time Frame was seen with his hair tied back, but this was it's first live onstage outing

  • Quo are still selling tickets because they are....wait for it....actually talented!! they took a few years in their youth to learn a few chords instead of fucking about on "Guitar Fuckin Hero" hence they are still out there rockin!

  • @billyconnearly i agree with ya, people slate them for what music they play now, and slate rossi for lancaster leaving, i feel rossi saved the quo, and brought them back to how they are now, a wicked live act, still releasing albums and singles...and @widdyhabb... john did sound good, but i prefer pete, great drummer, jeff was to fast paced for quo, but took them through a big few years, matt is awesome, talented drummer and brought them back... live long the quo

  • Quo still at their entertaining best!! Rock with a sense of humour and the ridiculous!

  • They sounded much heavier when John was still with them...

  • yes thats right, very good drummer john...

  • Rossis' 1st public appearance with his ponytail!! (true)

  • @blaster2012 maybe gig, but not appearance, he has it in the vid of the wanderer :-))

  • @Cpttoxic,ah yes,you are right,it was the year before this,i stand corrected! : )

  • what about a year prior to that, it was tied up for part of the Marguerita Time video

  • Bought mystery song in 76 when i was only 12..loved em ever since..one of the greatest rock bands ever..a fans band..given me some of my best memories..keep rockin lads..luv ya!

  • Quo are seriously under rated in my opinion and im only 23 so I wasn't around when they first came on the scene.

They may have only had one UK number one, but crist they are still doing sell out gigs 40 years on from when they started.

    Love the Quo

  • Brilliant

  • Hey, I've nothing against the guy, I'm sure he's great. It's just that the Quo were a guitar band in their best days.

  • this is rare stuff. never seen before i think

  • What's that piano player doin there, they should have let him do the opening to "Rockin' All Over The World" and then got rid of him.

The Classic Quo never had a piano player they sound like bloody Chas n Dave

  • That piano player is Andy Bown - legendary backing keyboardist - played with everyone and their granny!!

  • The best Quo moment ever!!!!

  • LEGENDS in their own lunchbox!!!! nah seriously they are fantastic live always have been always will be

  • Quo were better than Queen in my opinion

  • STATUS QUO national treasure!..BOOGIEING BOUNCING headBANGING BRILLIANT...makes you feel great!

  • I was there..right there..can you see me?

  • Quo in a nutshell - LEGENDS

  • You mean leg ends lol

  • This should have been on the DVD, Probs cut cos its not a well known song but its AWESOME. See Francis work that crowd, brilliant

  • "after four.... FOUR!" :P

  • NOBODY can do it like quo, rossi, parfitt, lancaster boogying like fk hate em or love em NOBODY can do it like quo quo fan 35 yrs loyal service how ya doin then alrite

  • I remember watching this it should be on the dvd

  • i was there the lads gave it there all nearley had to drag them off stage the version of caroline nearly compared to the princes trust gig at the bowl

  • I don´t have the live aid DVD,though i did watch it live on telly back in ´85.I´ts criminal they cut this from the DVD,as i think this is one of their best live performances of this song.Did they include Caroline on the DVD?I did´nt think the Live Aid version of Caroline was their best performance of that song, others may disagree, but i thought Rick´s guitar intro sounded weak in comparison to the storming Caroline intro that kicks off their own concerts.

  • To blaster2012:

Rockin' All Over the World and Caroline are included on the DVD, but not Don't Waste My Time, which is a shame!

  • Comment removed

  • yep after John and Alan leaving it just wasnot Quo anymore. Songwriting and liveperformnace wise. Magical foursome.....

  • It's a shame the Live Aid DVD cut this song out. This was the Quo's last great performance with bassist Alan Lancaster, he left after this.

  • Well actuallly down down is 3 chords:p if you leave out the intro and the slide chords :p haha

Alan's last performance, to bad he doesn't get to sing here..

  • Wha...? Where did this come from? It's not on the Live Aid DVD....well my one anyway

  • What!!!! is that for real. Seriously. lol??

  • Absolutely love this song. To all that say that Status Quo are a 3 chord band then just listen to this, especially Rossi's part.

  • only people that know nothing about music say it's all 3 chords, as they heard someone else say it, if they were asked what a chord was, they'd say I dunno, people that say it are tone deaf, someone said down down was 3, I laughed if they couldn't hear it wasn't they're eejits!

  • These guys are so amazing live

  • was this concert ever released on DVD or video?

  • yeah I seen it a few times in HMV

  • Quo at there Best!

    Long Live the Quo!

  • "After four. Four." I've got the abridged release of Live Aid (the full set isn't cheap) and it doesn't have this clip. Status Quo have mastered more styles of rock than any other band I know. Since I don't like all styles, I don't like all their material, but what I like, I love.

  • @2206411411 It's probably the case that at the time when Warner were putting together the DVD, a copy of this hadn't been found or had become too degraded to include.

Of course - might it be as the Beeb are now converting everything on 1-inch C - it turns up...

  • Vraiment Top!

  • On a jamais fait mieux que STATUS QUO et s'est vrai qu'ils sont vraiment au top depuis 42 ans

  • Fantastic, my video got chewed up many years ago of the historic day and been trying to get a clip of this for ages. Rocking and Caroline are widely available, but for me, this is the best song they did. Perfect lads, Rock on and see you at my 50th birthday bash!!

  • SALUE SALUGUO Thats is very special and the band is very good today Love Beate

  • Mais merde on ne trouve pas mieux actuellement sur le marché!!!!!

  • Now why on earth isn't this on the LiveAid dvd. Stupid damn editors cut it out! Such a good performance tho!

    Long Live Quo!

  • I know what the hell!!

    I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!

  • I AGREEEEEEEEEEE!!! best live opening of the aids concerts!!! they should have opened the new 1 too!!!! still the editor is silly!!

  • Live Aid was never intended to be kept - the VT reel it was on could have been damaged in storage... you're talking about 1 inch open-reel back then...

  • Rossi really nails this guitar solo.. I love it.. best version I hesrd of this song, not seen it for years.

  • francis never got the credit he deserved as a guitarist,he really was one of the most competent soloists of his era, a poor mans rory gallagher if you will, but the media just spouted guff about three chords etc etc, fuck me they were three good ones!!!

  • fukin fuk me they were damn good chords

  • but seriously, francis was the most underrated guitarist in rock anywhere in the world,I rate him higher than clapton for technical ability,he just never weny through as many diferent musical contexts as clapton, francis just stuck to what he loved, real life honest to god rock n roll.

  • god bless u man!!!!

  • is this wolfgang petry torturing the bass?

  • No, is Alan Lancaster.

  • the only true bassist that fitted in quo.

  • Love Frame when he goes after 4. Then says 4 straight away haha. Great showman.

  • QUO ARE LEGEND!

And this was them playin when they were stoned lolzz.

    Rock n' Roll!

  • Schade das dieses Lied nicht auf der Live Aid DVD drauf is, schade

  • One of the best live bands ever.

  • great start to live aid, shame paul wellers style council came on next and spoilt it!

  • Quo still are gods - still gigging, still rocking, still fu..ing ace! Roll on UK tour next month ........

  • my memory must be playing tricks,i always thought j c was drumming at live aid,and i was there!must have been the heat.

  • do you mean john "rhino" edwards or alan lancaster

  • did you go to university?

i bet. u studied, "talking bollocks"

  • Quo were gods. Heads down nonsense boogie. Just what the world needs now. Did pretty damn good job as well.. warming up a crowd of that size! Saw them at Selhurst Park ('84)? and what an amazing gig. Nothing but denim for a 5 mile radius, custom 'Quo' cars outside and a crowd that didn't stop bouncing the whole gig! What a band.

  • Rock on my brother.

  • you meant to say no nonsense boogie, but i think any quo fan anywhere would know what you meant and i totally aggree with you. Beer, buddies and the quo make for a good evening anytime

  • yep.

  • granda status quo!!!!!!!

  • Great video, a real shame its not on the Live Aid DVD, however when historians look back in future generations SQ will always be known as the band that opened this world changing event!

  • great piece of footage.not on live aid dvd, dont know why.great blues boogie.the usa got zz top,we got quo.saw them live in 1986,supporting queen, absolute brilliant.and rick parfitt playing with fractured hand, what a pro

  • they're not better than queen.queen's live aid is the best concert in the world.queen 4life

  • well said QUEEN will never be surpassed

    Live on Freddie

was there ever a better experience than Knebworth 86|?/

    cheers KK

  • best band ever! Great Britainia!

  • Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the waves:

Britons never never will be slaves.

  • Not the original line up. John Coghlan was the original drummer from the Spectres in 1965 through Traffic Jam and the Quo until 1982 when he was replaced by Peter Kircher seen here at Live Aid.

  • great drummer my mistake! got used to seeing the famous 3 in front. He always stayed in the background more.what i would give to see the original line up once more

  • last appearence by the original and best line up. priceless!

  • Quo at their best.......Fu..in ace!!!

  • PERFECT

  • piledriver was an awesome album - "oh baby" and so many others - wish someone would upload some of those

  • When I was younger (between 15-17) and was at a friends' party, one of my friend's friends would pour some alcohol into my glass instead of water (of course for a "joke"). And I nipped at the glass and said to my friend "this is not water" and she insisted it was (because she really thought so). So I drank it out fully and soon feel asleep on the party or got really drowsy. She tried to wake me up from time to time but I felt just tired.

  • Question:

Why can some people actually take so much alcohol - and some not? (like me)

Does the body "learn" that throughout the time?

  • You have to persevere at it. It takes time and dedication.

  • ...I'd possibly "drop dead beautiful" just standing in front of all these people or suffer from terrible limelight fever - or having the feeling to wet my pants any second (which won't happen but is only a heavy feeling of nervousness). Amazing how anyone can play like that. -> Some time ago, I've heard from a person that when learning stuff under drugs that person could only recall those things learned under drugs as well. That person was the total opposite when being under drugs. Shocked me.

  • Lol, I was exactly up to the day 6th months old when they played that... Amazing.

  • Definetly they had the same voices like today in general but Rossi sounds about 15-20 years younger.

I saw them live this year and I can say that with Rhino, Andy, Matt they make up a good team.

  • I have never seen this, they sadi they did it in the autobiography by you never se the video of it at Live Aid, thanks, Rock On...

  • Love them. STAND UP AND FIGHT.

  • LEGENDS!!!!!!

  • GREAT PERFORMERS.... I'm a big fan too!!!!

  • Do you have Caroline from the Live Aid performance?

  • No!

  • thats a grate vid - im a huge quo fan

  • after more than 40 years still the best live band on the planet

  • SAWEET!!!

  • This is Live aid, isn't it?

  • i went to see status quo last christmas at the MEN in manchester and they r still as good as they r then.

  • I was there too. Bloddy Brilliant even thought the curtain did a "Spinal tap"

  • And theyre still going :D 9 years they inspired me to play guitar lol 11 year old status quo fan is now a 20 year old grade 8 guitarist and singer and still a quo fan :D :D!!Read the biograhy its great!!!

  • wow its great they inspired you! I think Rossi is a very uderated guitarist..

  • Yup i owe them everything :) and i play the good old 3 chord shuffle whenever i can at gigs to show my appreciation :D lol x

  • Brilliant... Shame it was the last time Alan and Francis played together ..

  • rick were close to commit suicide

it was to many drogs and hes doter died its very sad

  • Brill, Frame and Ricky cant remember none of this. Too many drugs! Great vid

  • Nice vid
