Wow I heard the "Tales from Topographic Oceans" 1,000 times and I have enjoyed each one more than the first, an incredible album without doubt one of the most valuable albums of symphonic rock.

"YES" isnt a symphonic rock band "YES" is the symphonic rock itself.

I had the good furtune to see/hear them play this live at the Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto, the first concert with Rick Wakeman when he returned to the fold after the Khoroshev era, on a hot summer evening with the sun setting over the lake...and I think all in all this version is still better even than that.

Oh my God! What a great performance live. I remember listening to TFTO till the groves wore out on the vinal in the late 70's and early 80's, and wondering how the hell they did this music live and how they wrote it. TFTO is the best Yes record IMO. They hit such a zenith of beauty with it, I still get chills hearing it all these years later. ;)

He was in there, I mean There are two Genesis, Before and after Gabriel departure. The band still was pretty good, tough not so characterized on stage once Peter left them. As a matter of fact I think Peter Gabriel and Ian Anderson from Jethro Tull were two of the most brilliant interpretors as far as the personal style performance on stage, don´t you agree ?

Tales from TO was recorded live in a studio with overdubs.

Relayer was recorded at Squire's house and the whole album is full of overdubs and hardly any live recording. Probably why it sounds more "Energetic" (IE. Squeaky clean)

TFTO is raw and pure Yes, unblemished from overproduction.
