The people of Vincennes fought without end to protect there town throughout the 18th-century from Native attacks, the English and their attepts to kick everyone out, many battles, etc. Yet they stuck it out when times got hard and worked hard to improve the town until brighter days came about. People shouldn't simply give up on the town, the original French settlers of the town would be ashamed of people who gave up so easily. Not everyone in Vincennes will give up in the place so easily.
No city is without flaws and hard times. Vincennes will see brighter days in the future, but the past 5 years have been awful for the entire nation, and when you add 30 years of urban decay, suburbian flight, etc it adds up. Regardless of Vincenne's current problems it is still rich in history and had a large population when Detriot and St.Louis were a mere few homesteads. You can hate the issues and problems, but it doesn't mean you have to hate everything about the place.

You missed the rows of meth homes. The city has gone down hill in the last five years due to meth spreading around. At this point calling it "dilapidated" would be too much of a compliment.
Seriously, if you want to take a trip to "historic Vincennes", don't. You're far better off reading about it in text books and looking up dated pictures on the net.
If you haven't already gotten out, get out now. The ether ridden air was damaging my body so much I looked like a fucking AIDs patient by the time I got to Muncie. I live in Utah now. UTAH. Still better than Vincennes.
@MrMrPanPan vincennes really isnt that bad anymore though i still suggest not eating at applebees lol and the vu students rnt bad either most of them r pretty nice, i went into vu for horticulture tech. ive lived here my whole life, which hasnt been very long yet but while i dont plan on being here my whole life its not that bad right now. there working on the roads and have even gotten most of the tracks straight and they havnt ''accidentaly'' killed some one at good sam in a few years lol XD

Born & raised in Vincennes. Graduated from Lincoln High in '85.....moved away in 1990.
I miss it because it's home but I miss Bobe's Pizza (You should do a video on Bobe's Pizza!!) on 6th street enough to visit once in a while.
That "Trace" building used to be "Tresslars"...my mom worked there in 1970...I was 3.
I grew up with some Bouchets, Delisles......my last name is also french.
