The UAW workers who remain silent do so out of fear. The workers and the company may retaliate if you speak out. I spoke out about the drunk drugged workers who were defrauding the company, creating an unsafe work environment, and a hostile work environment. In return I had my life threatened by one particular drugged out worker.  General Motors and my union protected him. They both decided to "Kill the messenger." I had to leave my job of over 25 years in fear for my life. Both were well aware.

@Sodnal There have been a few auto workers who have condemned them, so I'm not sure how big those numbers might be. I suspect many might remain silent, but I implore them to not remain so. For those who defend this kind of behavior, I believe fall into one of two groups: fellow abusers or unionized "entitlement" attitude. The Unions have created a workforce of people who demand a raise, even in the face of destroying the company. It's happened in the past: Eastern Airlines is a prime example.

I was a big supporter of the Civil Rights Act, and I understood the importance of Affirmative Action when the Laws were first enacted, but there should have been a sunset clause with the quota system. It has not benefitted the black community in the long run, and in some cases has actually had the opposite desired affect: continuing racial stress.
