After listening to this song a hundred times I've come to a conclusion. I love this song and adore Lica! That does not make me love Brooke any less! Brooke is still one of my favorites. Lica is cute, and a great singer. Brooke is drop dead beautifull!!! And also a great singer. If I had to choose I would go for Brooke! She is a lovely kind and talented singer. You need to hear and watch Julia Abueva videos. She sings all genres and has the package to be a star. She sings, acts, dances and plays the piano very well for being so young...multi-talented. Please view her videos...I was surprised to see her featured in the Oprah Winfrey show last November.

I checked Julia Abueva out. She is definitely an accomplished artist who will do well in musicals and jazz. Though, I'm not crazy about her tonal color and her voice is pretty quavering in the low register due to a lack of sustain. I hope she will better her technique in time. But she trully is a promising singer !

I think it's rather a pop artifact than a basically wrong placement, because in the high pitch, her sound opens up and is well dispatched in the mask and projected. Charice sounded also nasal at 9 in her "To love you more" and today, she has one of the best placements around. So will have this girl.
