Im a Military Police Soldier , and when I work the Road and decide to make a traffic stop , this is always my reason to charge someone, most cases they get a verbal warning from me, but for Usage of a cell phone or any electronic device while driving I will charge to the full extent of the law and anything else I can think of just to make a point. Not only that he he caused the crush, but in the aftermath of it, what he does it totally despicable. Took him more than a minute to get out of the chair to check on his passengers, and, most important, more than a minute and a half to check on the victims he just smashed into, but not before locating and retrieving his precious cellphone. He seemed more concerned about his phone than the victims

@nicebutevil127 Lucky you're not in the UK. Using a hand held phone or texting whilst driving over here is illegal. The only way to use a phone legally whilst driving is with a hands free kit.
If that bus driver had been in the UK he would not only get fired, he'd probably end up doing jail time for dangerous driving.

It's illegal in Alberta here aswell. Just passed the "Distracted Drivers law" No cells phones, no reading, eating, drinking etc. Anything that can and will distract you from the road. illegal.

@marklandynut It's illegal to be using a hand held here in California USA as well. But it still doesn't stop motorists from doing so. I drive trucks for a living and I see it all the time, wish there was a good way to enforce this law.

The bus driver is a terrible person. He lets over 1 1/2 mins pass before he asked if his passengers were ok. He didnt even care to hear the response he just turns around like the whole world revolves around him. I hope this turd never drivers commercially again!
