I have salvia plants growing next to my windows, and during the summer, humming birds visit the blossoms all day. My cat would sit on the other side of the glass, get very excited, and chirp to the hummers in a way that sounded a lot like their calls. It almost sounded like a little dog barking. As she aged, she went deaf, and no longer did this.

She went on to cat heaven not long ago, and I buried her under this window, among the salvia.

Yes indeed, I'm sure that was on her mind. I've since moved and she now hunts lizards. I'm sure in the lizard world there is monument set up to me as a saviour. I estimate that I rescue at least 10 of the little buggers a week from her and her cat flat mates.

when I shot this I ws living under a flight path to the airport - at least 100 planes a day landing. she was really used to the sound and paid it no attention. The pigeons however sat on a power line in bulk and she was trying to get them to come down and visit I reckon.
