I'm pretty sure they don't mean 2 days non-stop. It is true indeed that wearing boots in long trailer rides cause more problems than not having them on! The horse obviously looks in good health, and not sick. It would look sick if it hadn't had air or stretch atleast a few times in the 2 days.
She was most likely taken out of the trailer and that's why it took two days, if they didn't take her out at all it could of took them one day and she would be sickly so stop worrying about her she looks healthy!
he was lucky not to get run over by this horse while unloading the horse should of been tied or atleast held by someone else while unloading thats what they made escape doors and drop down windows for it wouldnt care if they have done this a million time it only takes the horse to want out faster once and then someone could get hurt
As some of u have said the no boots are good well i barrel race and was lucky that my horse had polo wraps on as she cut her leg a bit and this would of been worse if not for boots and our vet likes it when we ulaod totally booted horses
Ask ANY commercial hauler or vet: On a long haul, particularly in August, any kind of wrap is statistically significantly more likely to cause injury than prevent it.
dont mean to cause problem, just, imm not a horse hauler, or a vet, so i dont know. my horses havent gone farther than 3 hours, and boots are GOOD for that!
hi there im presuming (unlike most) you dont mean literally 2 days, but it took 2 days to get there (with stops) and i agree with you sometimes boots/bandaging can be more dangerous causing overheating tendons...but i guess you have to know how the horse travels, how long its travelling and the conditions it wil be under to judge what to do. very nice horse tho :)
actually, many commercial haulers are refusing to haul horses with shipping boots, because they can slip off and pose as a danger to the horse if they get caught up in one of them.
It is extremely difficult to get a serious injury to the legs while travelling , unless the vehicle actually crashes in which case boots and bandages can come off and get tangled up and make the horse panic. At most, a travelling horse is likely to maybe step on a coronet or get a tiny nick or scratch ; important if you are showing but pointless if you are about to spend a day smashing through hedges and ditches while hunting or racing or else, just going home.
no, they do not have to be...but they should be in a place where they can not walk around..having to just stand there....but ya, in the text you meant it they should be

xDjickox 2 years ago
what! two days in a trailer with nothing on her? Shipping boots? Atleast a blanket!
dinadoe 2 years ago
@dinadoe if it was in August those things could of made her have heat stroke!

@ShelbiSexy Hmm you have a point. Then again everyone has their own opinions when it comes to horse care,
