  • the known universe can not be bigger than 14 billion years large. thats as far as we can see so far

  • @lotmein20 and its only a theory.. its not proven scientifically..just like big bang or that the dinosaur died at a meteor strike.. its only a theory..not evidence

  • @redbunnyz "its only a theory..not evidence" You obviously don't understand what the term theory means.

  • @MrUnThink A common distinction made in science is between theories and hypotheses. Hypotheses are individual empirically testable conjectures, while theories are collections of hypotheses

  • snake choda

  • the universe is not big at all, it's just that we are so tiny we think it's big.

  • You should give credit where credit is due... youtube channel: tdarnell created this video. Don't just steal other videos, this is intellectual property infringement.

  • Scientifically speaking yes, it is the most important picture ever taken... By a machine that took a misguided bunch of assholes way to long to use it for this. I was told in elementary school (in america) that with this knowledge we have of the universe we can go anywhere in space we want to. Why have we lost our love of space and adventure. Did everyone say "it's cool dude smart people got this under control. i'm gonna be a ______?" I wanted to explore space. WHY ME? Why did i stop trying?

  • did he say 78 billions (milliarden in europe) at the end of the clip ?

i thought,it would be 13 to 14 billions, from the big bang !?

  • what`s so hard to understand about the fat guy...

he shows the oposite to what you are doing now.

(or, are you danzing at the moment?)

  • idiot

  • Minus the fat dude singing (why can't I find this video without that guy? did he make the video? lol) this video is great. But I don't know if I would say it's the most important image humanity has ever taken.

  • i understand big numbers.. just take a look at my credit card balance.

  • @WolfEyesatNight

    haha same as man

  • wow this is so amazing..

    really random too

what up with the fat guy dude?!?!?!????

  • you wana see numbers look at my bank account its -1000000000000

  • wow. i mean, if every second since the very beginning of what is planet earth are within the frames of what can be explained with the proper understanding of the laws of the universe. that is, no freak intervals where they cease to rule like black holes or all the matter in the universe inside the volume of a football. then earths like planets are probably formed every nanosecond somewhere, where condicions of biochemistry are possible. how unlikely isnt it that life doesntexcistsomewhereelse?

  • SHINE ON YOU CRAZY DIAMOND. great music Selection mate! :)

  • That is, if we discover how to stop ageing. We will preserve our matter, and live forever. We will become independent of physics, and thus, we will venture into the rest of reality. Leaving earth, and this universe. Yeah I am drunk.

  • I have the truth of everything.

We are a form of energy, energy is infinite. We will be reborn in another universe as something different, this has always occurred, and will always occur. We have been ourselves before, an infinite amount of times, and we will be ourselves and other things infitnitely. Our present mind will be transformed, not destroyed. Like amnesia.

  • what is that dancing like thingy?

  • Dragostea din tei fat mans song!

  • Love the musical choice!

  • 5:26, wow, just WOW,

  • is this 1080p?

  • i just started to crack up when the fat guy started singing

  • what is the name of the background music?.. Its so beautiful

  • @BPOFA john calvertner from the album nothing more

  • what is that tune, i heard it when i was a youngster

  • @factorialpython shine on you crazy diamond - pink floyd

  • @gickymobile1 thankyou, great tune!

  • Yes we can visualize, when we meditate and use chi. It possible

  • It's amazing what a bent reflection can see and discover! The meaning of human life is answered here. The earth itself has a desire to live, we are an immune response to it's desire and our job as the "immune response" is to deflect a meteor/comet that is on a collision course WITH earth.

Geez! No wonder we have war and conflict! It inspires us to boost our technological abilities outside the confines of our gravitational pull.

If we deflect just 1 sizible meteor, nature will owe us BIG TIME!

  • the designer of the hubble telescope is a legend to science, and space is one big mind fuck. most interesting thing to ever exist

  • yet i have a great dillema.if nothing travels faster than light, and everything is so far that it takes 1 milion years for light to arrive to us so that we can see the nearest galaxy to our own,how can we be sure that is another galaxy and not ours at another step in "evolution",but seen (because of the light) in the past?it`s not too complicated, just take time as a curved line, not a straight one(fact which is not proven yet)...

  • lmao @ headphone boy.

  • haters gonna hate but i believe in god but i also believed that god made all of this happen. just look at the beauty around us

  • @Kiyastand .......Why dont you just walk along God boy, and let the grown ups talk about REAL Science.

  • @Kiyastand God should always be spelled with a capital G, idiot

  • @lovetogokiev Your god is a lie.

  • Comment removed

  • Space is a lie you stupid idiots. Wake up.

  • @RealTruth888 then what is the truth?

  • Brain fart.

  • 22 people tought they got trolled at 1:30

  • who is the nut? and add for barny frank?lol

  • ... and were NEVER going to see the life thats on those planets

..maybe in 2000 years but.. ya..

at the rate things are going.. nope

we'll all be dead by then

  • Nice video and well narrated.

  • 5:25 wow... hmmm

  • The universe is 15 billion years old so how could it be 78 billion light years across??

  • @twodoortwo Because space is expending! galaxies are moving away from us at an exponential rate. There is no speed limit here because the objects themselves aren't moving, it's the space between them that has expanded. Some galaxies are seen moving away from us faster then the speed of light.. without ever breaking that speed limit.. check out the Big Rip theory

  • @twodoortwo Your stupid ....

  • the universe is a big place...duh !

  • LOL at 78 billion

    Astronomers agree at 13.7

Also, hubble stared out into the "empty" patch of space for 40 days.

I really liked this video, but facts need to be checked.

  • @Aldawok12 uh they agree that the universe 13.7 billion YEARS OLD. He said 78 billion LIGHT YEARS ACROSS. You are comparing age to size....................

the universe as a whole is presumed (in today's knowledge) 156 billion light years wide, its radius is half of that which is 78 billion light years. This knowledge was brought about in 2004. So you need to check your facts lol.

do a simple google search of "Universe Measured"

  • @keyrabuns69 do you know the name of the 1st image on this vid where the man peers out into conciousness ?

  • Dang, we got numa numa fat kid roll'd

  • Huh? *scratches head @ video...*

  • shine on you crazy diamond by pink floyd = epic

  • LMAO at guy singing numa numa lol

  • Notice the gheyhand flipping the bird in the low left corner?

  • wats wiff tha numa numa at like 1:31 to 1:54 wtf

  • possibile che non ci sia nessuno in grado di farmi vedere dei video degni di credenza???nuz76@hotmail.it contattatemi

  • Actually we see those galaxies as how they looked now 78 billion light years..if hubble would take another image in the same spot he would see more galaxies due to the fact that the universe is like evolving, stretching continuously..

  • Imagine the earth. Okay now I want you to imagine the earth, the sun and the moon. Okay now imagine the milky way. And that's about all we can imagine, but there is more. A hell of a lot more. When you grasp how small we are...all we can think is "Holy shit!" Well, that's what I think lol

  • @locsaretheshit Fuck, as soon as my mind gets away from the earth and sun, I can't comprehend it...And I'm a fairly smart guy. Maybe I just have a wandering mind?

  • God...is the Alpha and the Omega......the beginning and the ending....0 and 360 on tnhe circle.....there would be no life without a circle...only an arc....... GOD.....Gomez....Oz....Debor.....(wisdom....strength....Beauty....inside the Masonic Lodge....these are the three main officers.........) God exists...proven by the circle......0 and 360 which we see every day with the rising and setting of the sun.....Praise Thee Almighty....GOD

  • @cqsr63 have you seen god?

  • WONDERFUL!

Good job, Tony et al :)

  • The most important video ever uploaded

  • most boring video... ever!

  • The most important image ever taken is ur moms vagina

  • @klarc i am wondering why to post suck a useless stupid comment on this kind of video i think u wasted your time

  • as far as you can gather. from that information it is just a static that life does exist out their and it is just a static whatever we will ever actually be able to identife if their is life on any of them. but whether thier is more life outside of this soral system is very much as pointless attempt to discover because being as we are practially nothing compared to the universe their is no way to say nothing their is more life would help us or not. chances are we will never met it

  • @Jonarrthan if u believe in evolution, i bet if a single cell form of a human would say the same about crossing the ocean.....now we sail across the sees and fly faster than the speed of sound.... seriously our minds may not be able to understand how powerfull we will become.

  • @morgzsta welll here is a sciencific fact ATM, you can excess the speed of light, theirs has been some thoeries raised that can excess it but none seem possible atm. also if you believe in evolution it is stated that their must be a mass wipe out of the species for it to happen. I don't know to explain it well but the idea of us becoming better than we are now is really true, because with our knowledge we been able to stop evolution

  • @Jonarrthan everything u said ddnt help your point. we dont need to evolve to travel out of our galaxy. we just need to work out how... this will take a long time. wat im saying is we are stuck in a time where in which we think a certain way which limits our assumed potentials.... science discorvery and technology is allways and allways will improve and get faster in doing so.

  • @morgzsta ok just there are physical limits we can't reach as far as speed is consearn with my limited knowledge I believe it is impossible to exeed the speed of light but there is a way to travel the fasts distense within seconds. well it is just thoery at the momment

  • @morgzsta if you understood evolution and natural selection you would also know that we have stopped evolving as a species because of our technology.

  • If the astronomic guys don't care about big numbers, why don't they just build another telescope similar to Hubble but like five or ten times bigger? Imagine what we might be able to see THEN.

  • @Allroundmoviemaker considering that even though it would be 10 times greater and probably 100 times harder to get out of our planet. that fact that light's speed will remain constant I assume you would see the same thing.

  • @Allroundmoviemaker lol its doesnt matter the size of the telescope >_> its still takes the same time to zoom with the speed of light

  • google Doe's Account., its insane.

  • Someone please tell what that song is at the end?

  • Someone please tell what that song is at the end?

  • Comment removed

  • @TripleBBB2k yea man, it's in the credits

  • Song is Shine On You Crazy Diamond. Pink Floyd

  • whats the name of the song after the numa numa one

  • Fat. It's all.

  • well there is a chanse xD i mean afterall the universe is endless means endless spieces so one of them may look like navi xd

  • @eleszar1 holy shit your right. im going to look for navi now

  • People as a whole are just dust particles floating in space....................... the fat guy is just wart on the balls of mankind

  • fuckin awesome music. Shine on you Crazy Diamond

  • copied from another video much?

  • Dr. Who, eat your heart out.

  • go white boy go white boy go

  • obsolete

  • OUTSTANDING! Thanks for this, tfa

  • everything is so flat ? surely there must be galaxies in front of galaxies or behind ?and surely the bible for all you believers would of explained all this

  • @incarta999

2D pictures mate. Just 1 lens, you need 2 to make 3D pictures.

  • this makes my brain hurt.

  • Beginning's and ends are man-made terms. Therefore, they can be changed, just as perfection by definition does not exist, because what one person considers perfect is what someone else considers it far from it.

  • but everything has an end that means there is something on the other side of the end possible another universe or a cluster of multiverse!!!!!

  • Pink Floyd ftw

  • were so small that maybe to a species out there cant be visible even trhough a super microscope . makes you feel pretty small.. yet were bigger than life only for the fact that we are witnesses of life. pretty cool and scary.

  • Monkeys, Shut up.

    Greatest video on YouTube.

    THINK!

  • fucking fat chicken!

  • I KNEW this would have Shine On You Crazy Diamond. Well done.

  • I'm the destroyer of worlds.

  • SHINE ON YOU CRAZY DIAMOND! Love that song, the album "Wish You Were Here 1975" is perhaps my favorite Floyd album.

  • Quit talking- I wanna hear Pink Floyd!

  • Cool story, bro. Too bad it's fake.

  • can we have your liver now? ok.

    right!

  • Hey, It's Me, 'Your life calling.'

    Shut the F* up.

    Goin'g to get YA! ;x

  • Fuck, this kind of truth really scares you...

  • most important image u have never seen is in my pants.

  • is this pink floyd?

  • Yes...Shine on You Crazy Diamond is the song

  • Sometimes I wonder if when we point our telescopes out into space how do we know the light it picks up is not being reflected so our picture of the universe may be wrong.

  • light reflects.....what are you talking about?? we only see things how our eyes can perceive them, different species see things different, the way we see the moon is because light shines on it, hence reflection, if ur getting at maybe telescopes are seeing fallacies because of light manipulating what they really look like, just look through a normal telescope here on earth, there's ur answer, we see things how they were not how they are today. As in if light takes 100,000 million light years...

  • travel from where it's coming from, to earth, then we are seeing it that long ago, and not how it is now. Space is so vast and big, but what we see is what we get, we can't and probably won't be able to see it any differently cause our eyes only perceive it one way. I'm pretty sure how we see things is the way they look though lol, at least to our visual performance that is.

  • Thanks for the reply. I was getting myself confused by thinking about the speed of light and how far everything is. What boggles me is when scientists say they have photographs of the earliest galaxies from 14 billion years ago! What I wonder is why the light from those galaxies is still reaching us when in 14 billion years they should have moved so far that the light no longer gets to us??? Its so confusing.

  • because its the light from the galaxie 14 billion years ago....light travel at a specific speed, when it reachs earth, the actual galaxie has already moved way further then it was when the light finally reached the earth. Hope you got it lol :P

  • Thanks. But my problem is that when the light left the galaxy 14 billion years ago the universe was smaller and it would have been just after the big bang and the earth didn't exist then. So why is the light reaching us now?

  • friggin awesome luv the use of pink floydd too :)

  • Long life the Hubble Space Telescope !

  • tnx bro

    photo is breathtaking

  • Awesome! I never heard of this photo before. Thanks for posting.

  • Fuck that it's 9 planets why must everyone hate on the little guys huh

  • if pluto were a planet, we'd have 100's of planets to add as well

  • Well fuck it add them all and lets have us a huge planet party hahaha ^_^

  • liquid foxxxx they are still arguing over whether the 9th is a planet or not, chill, peace my brother:)

  • @LiquidFoxxxx might as well call all 30+ of mercurys moons planets then huh?

  • Does no one fuckin see the stupid fat fuck singing ching chong!!!!!!!!!!!fuck him yeah universe

  • ching chong..? that wasn't an asian language >.> sounds kinda german.

  • If it were possibly to go in a straight line through the universe at immense speeds, you would only find your way back to where you started.

  • wtf are you talking about ? you mean the universe is a sphere like earth ? lol your a dumbass, the universe is infinit in all the ways

  • wow . . . no . . . not a sphere like the earth. I meant that the universe could exist in different dimensions that we do not fully understand that would allow such a thing to happen. Keep in mind these are all just theories, even the accepted flat-curvature which is infinite in all ways

  • If we could have civil conversation on YouTube, we might make sense. Questions are good, assumption of stupidity actually rids us of meekness, the requirement for learning. ;))

  • he's not a dumbass at all. the gravity of the universe could make it warp around itself, exactly like the earth's surface is warped. if you think the universe is infinite, you exclude the possibility of multiple universes, which hasn't been proven or refuted yet.

  • 10110001

  • funny

  • If you ever feel small, and in turn, worthless, just look up the word "quark" on wikipedia. We're actually pretty freakin' big at the same time.

  • No - the size of the universe is not determined by the age of the universe, which is "about 15 billion" yrs old. Common mistake.

  • I'm pretty sure the Universe is not 78 billion light years across. Isn't it more like 15 billion?

  • The age of the universe is said to be 13.73 billion years old. The diameter of the visible universe is at least 93 billion light years. The confusing point may be that special relativity says that matter cannot travel faster than the speed of light. However according to general relativity, space can expand with no intrinsic limit on its rate. In other words 2 galaxies can seperate faster than the speed of light if the space between them grows. (source wikipedia)

  • well thats one source, i know some sources that dont even believe in the "big bang"

  • anyone know what the center of a galaxy is called? the spot with all of the light

  • a super-massive-black-hole

  • one of best videos in youtube

  • abfghdffd

  • That's why We are just "Dust in the wind..." But don't worry, there is life beyond death!

  • awesome video!

  • nice

  • hahahahahahahah are you serious dude?

  • hey everyone has their own beleifs

  • wow you reply to a comment i made a month ago?..anyways i think he was kidding lol

  • no the only correct belief is mine..if you dont believe it...i keeelllll u

  • all those little balls and stars are actually tons of bibles all smushed together caused by gravibiblicalness

  • LOL!

  • Where can i get the song that starts at 2:00. It sounds soo relaxing. I imagine myself singing in the higher planes with this song.

  • Would you like fries with that?

  • swear to god when he said "it saw this," I thought I was about to be rick rolled.

  • Im a little confused, did he say 78 billion light years? how can that be, if the universe is only 13.6 billion years old???

  • a light year is a unit of length... it doesnt have anything to do with how old the universe is. The Universe's diameter is like 95 billion light years, that is the length light(300000 km/s) travels in 95 billion years
