It's great if you are 4'11" with arms about 20" long, for for someone taller the range of motion us cut by at least a foot or more. I'm 6' tall and I would have to sit on the floor somehow to use that thing. I think it's creative for sure, but does that translate into an improved workout? It doesn't seem so in this video.

Innovative idea. This would be good for behind the back pulldowns... or not behind the back. You could pull straight in line with your shoulders.
