Chaka Khan is a vocal beast!!! But even the lion missing her prey once in a while. I hate when people try to make excuses for a bad performance. If you are a true music fan, then call out the mistakes. Chaka makes so few, it will not hurt her image. This was a mess... the end!

@SPYSINA1 No.. No... Let me be clear. I just saw Chaka with Prince two weeks ago. Chaka was in EXCELLENT voice. You should go see her live. It's better than any video performance. She was off here, but I would not miss an opportunity to see her live. 98 time out of a hundred she sounds really, really good. Please go see her and report back. Thanks!

well i love mary j blige, but I don't know about Mary showing Chaka how to sing this song right considering it's known that Mary's request of Jam & Lewis to write this sonw was inspired by Chaka khan. Nor do I see Beverly helping Chaka find the right key, Chaka was just not in her best voice & she forgot the words which happens to the best of them including Mary J & Beverly. It is what it is Chaka is an icon & both Mary & Beverely idolize her & Chaka adores them which is all that matters

@gs08dew To be fair, Beverley wasn't in good voice either but every singer has their off days, they both happened to share one lol. But Bev did actually find the right key for her though, it's not up for debate. Not only does Chaka start in the wrong key, you can clearly see her turn and ask the band "what key is it", which is when bev picks up the next bar in the right key.
