Ferrets need ferrets. Cages are mostly too small even if they are "only" a few hours in it, a "self-made" cage is much better. A cage made out of a big cupboard would be perfect but ferrets need their time too run around and play about 3 hours a day. Ferrets need also meat but no pork - this would be very dangerous for them and they could die because of a virus. Ferrets love chicken - no vegetables or fruits . This is for everyone who wants to have a pet/ferret. Please tell them this, too.

2. Is litter box training hard and do you have to clean the box everyday?

3. Do they smell if so how do you keep them not smell.

5. can you make them do tricks like give a paw rollover and jump?

@iEatN00bz4breakfast They are pretty expensive. I got mine and her cage with the total of almost 400... The ferrets themselves range around 120-160...

The litter box training isn't too hard, they usually wake up when they use the bathroom, so when she/he wakes up, put them in the litter box. You keep them in the cage when out, and make sure they have plenty of food and water for the day.

They can do tricks as well. They like to run around a lot. Play with them a lot. They are very playful.

because a ferret is a bit more like a dog, then a guniea pig is, although my little dog and rabbit were good friends, so i dunno.

depends on the individual temperment of the two animals really.

some say if you want different types of animals to be comfortable with each other, then raise them together as babies.

but in your case i'd personally suggest a ferret, had a bad experience with a dog and guniea pig =|

@carmen4298 I own three ferrets and have two silky terriers in the house as well, and the older dog just sort of acts like an annoyed, grumpy old man when they're around, but the younger one, Kwency, considers them his babies. We kept the ferrets in a small pen on the main floor so the dogs could get used to them, and now Kwency is overprotective of and loves playing with my baby girls. :)

You just have to introduce them properly to ferrets! Rats & rodents, etc., you'll have no luck with tho.
