Are you down here making a video? I expect you know already, but if you check the Durlston Park website, on the "daily diary" page that gives a fair indication of whats around. If you go to Durlston, watch out for Ticks, I came home smothered in the blighters a few months ago!
Thanks for this information I was thinking about the RSPB reserve at Arne and hope to film sand lizard or Darford warbler whatever turns up to be honest!,
Great video and nice quality images. I gather it shoots in 4:3 only?
Reason I ask is my old Sony DCTRV 240 packed up and I'm trying to choose between a cheaper HD camera or a higher quality SD camera such as the Panasonic AG-DVX100BE. Can the 4:3 ratio be expanded to widescreen without weird stretching occuring?
The XM2 although being standard definition I found the quality superb (low end broadcast), this camera will shoot in both 4.3 & 16.9 ratios, I now use a canon XHA1 HD1080, and almost exclusively shoot in 16.9 HD format.
I have on occasion mixed the two formats stretching the SD footage to 16.9 widescreen, to me it does not look right,
0:37-0:48 that is a fantastic shot it really is peaceful and beautiful.

Excellent footage as always Richard...those birds are all superb and I do hope they escaped that hawk at the end.

Thank you ginny, I know it is not nice to see but the hawk has to feed as well.

I must agree with TK42138 . Brilliant quality footage. I like the Redpolls and Siskins.I have not had the pleasure of seeing either of them yet.

Thank you very much,
as common as these birds are they can be elusive, these were feeding at a local nature reserve on sunflower seed
Best wishes Richard

The Xha1 is an excellent camera although
expensive.
