Dave IS the best drummer PJ ever had, but not because he's better than matt, it's because he matches their attitude and style more. Matt is a completely different kind of drummer. There are certain rhythms Dave plays that Matt cannot, but I also doubt Dave could play any Soundgarden beats as well as Matt. They're both brilliant drummers, and any band member is lucky to play with them. They're just different. Like the cultures and people of the world.

Like most of the grunge bands, they just wanted to play music and bring some cool art to the world. Dave was more of a traditional rock'n'roller with the whole money and fame and women complex...nothing too terrible about that really, even though I personally think it's rather obnoxious, it's just not Pearl Jam.

@cgnetwork1 I totally disagree. I think Dave A is the WORSE of Pearl Jam's drummers, mainly because I personally don't like his style. He's a good drummer, but I don't think his attitude matches the band--they fired him, due in no small part to his having a different ideology on things (ie, ticketmaster, rock star lifesstyles).

I think pre-Matt C, Dave Krusen is PJ's best drummer. it just comes down to personal preference. I have a way hard time watching Dave A play--i hate his technique.
