@broknprism Just an FYI. From experience, this model will easily put rounds through a phone pole and hit targets out to 100 yards. As far as accuracy of any firearm, it depends more on the owner than the hardware.
@jdh91741 I totally agree. Most modern firearms are damn accurate and it depends on the user. I made an update video and let you guys know when I upload it. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@HYBRIDCOMBATIVES You are so right! I have the Safariland speedloaders and they are much better than the HKS speedloaders. I need to do an update video.
I have the S&W mod 66 too. Also a mod 5906 and walther ppk/s by S&W. I am a big fan of the company. The only other gun that I would trust with my wife and my life would be a Beretta.
@solidseung Thanks for the reply. Ill stay tuned for that vid!Could you tell me if you have experienced any signs of cracking, twisting in the frame?S&W developed the L frame for .357 so model 66 is not being produced.Beautiful revolver,I also love the firing pin attached to the hammer. I can't wait to buy myself a 3",stainless 686. Take care
@venyusz01 I just recently picked up two more Smith & Wesson revolvers: another model 66-2 with a 4" barrel/square butt and a model 686P with a 2.5" barrel full underlug/round butt (P stands for Plus 7 shot).
So far I've shot over 400 rds of 158 gr .357 Magnum loads with no problems. The forcing cone is fine, timing and lockup are fine. The model 66-2 and later addressed the problems of cracking cones and K frame problems.
@venyusz01 I bought the revolver used and noticed also that the double action trigger felt a bit heavy. I replaced the mainspring and rebound spring then gave the internals a thorough cleaning and lubing, which it didn't have in at least 5 years. Now the trigger is much smoother and has Pachmayr Compac grips on it. I'll make an update video soon.
@SPW892 Have it checked by a gunsmith. Sometimes if they have not been shot in years or even decades they can develop minor issues. You have been left a great handgun that will last your lifetime.
Nice firearm. I have a model 65 stainless .357 4 inch with Ajax pearl grips, I love it. Shoots like a dream. I'd love to get an old snubbie like yours though
@keltingr Thanks. I just installed a 13 lb. reduced power rebound spring. It helps smooth the trigger when firing double action. The accuracy of this snubbie surprises me every time I shoot. Very accurate for a snubbie. It would be nice to check out your model 65 with pearl grips. Sounds like a classic!
Great shooting, I'm thinking of going back to a revolver, I miss my 357 smith model 686 4" barrel, I wish I hadn't sold it, but I going to purchase another one soon this week.
@Mr291229 The model 686 with a 3" barrel was the S&W I wanted, but was not disappointed with the model 66. I always wanted a medium frame 6-shot .357 magnum, but the 7-shot is just as good.
@guthywoodry I agree. The sound came out great and the magnum power can be heard. I really like to see and hear the gun firing and I think other people want to see that also.
Just like with your Kimber, you control the weapon very well for a relatively new shooter. Great video. I can see the Todd Jarrett influence in your technique! Well done.
Thanks, bro. I try to shoot as much as I can with both a pistol and a revolver. It's good practice, plus it is fun. I'm trying to make videos of all my firearms I own. The next one will probably be with my Remington 870 Pump 12 gauge.
HAHA very nice. Don't youjust love this revolver. Its my favorite gun I own. I put the Pachmayr grips on when I shoot it. They fit great and really give you a lot more to hold on to. Good Vid.
I am looking to purchase the exact gun. I heard the frame may crack if you dont shoot 158 gr

When you shoot slow fire, how's the accuracy from this Smith?
broknprism 2 months ago
@broknprism Very accurate. I was surprised especially from a 2.5 inch barrel.

@jdh91741 I for one would like to see a video of this telephone pole penetration.
Although the .357 is a great round I don't think that even .357 AP would pass through.
A 7.62x25 in ball ammo which is renowned for over penetration would be pressed to do it.
30-06 AP or ball or 8mm ball would do the trick.
I am glad I have not been threatened by a telephone pole and hope no one will be blasting innocent ones in actual use. After all they never harmed us.

get yourself some Safariland Comp 2s,jetloaders, or the best of the lot S.L. Variant speedloaders. HKS speedloaders are slow and finicky.

Great gun man, I will highly recommend that you install a Tylers Grip Adopter it improves the grip yet retains the sexy lines of the service grips.

@Aussie038 I just installed a Pachmayr Compac grip on the model 66 and got some new speedloaders by Safariland, but I'll check out the Tyler's Grip.

The S&W M19 Series are hard to better & the sound on this fine video tells why.
