I mean, she only played Meat in We Will Rock You, and is now an amazing Elphaba in Wicked (which I saw the other day, incredible!), she's obviously not gone further than most people on this show anyways.
poor rachel. but she got good roles becuase of the show. I think she suits the role Elphaba way more than Nancy. more dramatic. And that's what Rachel is good at.

Yes, Northern Ireland could vote. Although her family said in the paper that it was quite hard for Rachel to get a lot of votes because Belfast is very close to Bangor where Niamh is from and its a small country, so the northern irish votes were shared between those two.
The was a really great singoff, but not as good as Week 8 in my opinion. =)
Rachel was the better actress and mover, and I know her voice didn't have the amazing range Samantha's had but she still had a much smoother and heart wrendering tone I thought.Andrew made a huge mistake, I loved her all the way through. It makes me cry everytime I watch this video. Plus her version of "As Long As He Needs Me" at the end was better.Gutted for her, but no doubt she will be a legend one day, as she is for me now.
I agree with everything you say, except one thing...Sam doesn't have a much better vocal range than Rachel (their strengths are different). Sam is weak in the lower range, where Rachel is strong. Another reason why Rachel was so much more suitable to the role of Nancy n should've been saved - Nancy's songs are written in the lower-to-mid range. Anyway, totally agree with you in every other respect - Rachel was my Nancy too! Rx
Sorry to say you and andrew were definitely in the minority. When you say the 'panel', you can tell John and Denise thought it was the wrong decision (facial expressions at the end) and Cameron was angry with Andrew for making the 'wrong decision'.

Can i just mention, to that guy who said jessie is staying in because she has the irish vote, voting wasnt allowed from the Republic of Eire, and she had the Northern Irish vte and cleary most of the rest of the UK, is a disgrace the republic werent allowed to vote!! ALW and Cameron both wanted jessie to win! jodie was consistant but she never gave an outstanding preformance! wont be going to see the production! disgraceful!

well, based on last weekend's performance i would pay a lot of money to go and see rachel, but not any of the others although they're all good in their own way. i think rachel's got great passion and a fantastic voice - i would pay to see her in concert or on a cd... i must say that sam leaves me rather cold...
But the public vote still put Rachel in the bottom two even though she received a standing ovation from ALW and the audience. Jessie should definately have been in the sing-off based on her acting alone. Dreadful attempt at cockney accent. Still I wish all 3 finalists good luck on Saturday night but I'm afraid I won't be voting for any of them.

This show is losing my respect week by week. First we said goodbye to Francesca, then to the fantastic Sarah Lark and now to the outstanding Rachel. Rachel has been consistent, every performance her cabaret blew me away and her As Long as he needs me was the best ever. I think the public should be ashamed by putting Jessie through. Lets hope if Jessie gets the part, the word Macbeth will be said in the theatre.

Jessie should have been voted out. She does not deserve to be in the final. Not being able to dance and having limited expression should not get you through. Clearly the Irish vote helped. Shame, as like all things like this, it ends up a popularity contest. Not a talent contest.

I love them all but I never connect with Sam when she performs...There can be miracles is one of my favourite songs but Sam didn't convay the emotion.
Rachel's performances were stunning! Carabet was so good and in the sing off I could see her becoming the role of Grizabella, she's got an amazing ability to act which I personally think Sam lacks.
After Jessie, Rachel and Sam had been my favourites from the start, but I do think that Sam deserved to go last week based on the the sing off and Rachel gave an amazing performance of Cabaret that was way better than Sam's version of When You Believe. But I'm sure Rachel will land a West End role soon.
I never thought there was tension between Rachel and Sam before, but Sam was grinning throughout as long as he needs me, whilst Jessie and Jodie were barely holding it together lol.

Also- why is everyone slating Jessie's acting ability? I know what a good actress is having worked in professional theatre, and she's the only one who seems to understand the words!!! Rachel completely outshone Samantha in 'memory'.. and 'Cabaret' was the performance of the series for me, just beating Jessie's 'The man that got away'.

Samantha should have gone, I've never really liked her. Rachel should have stayed and gone on to win it, she's by far the best, the whole package. Her performance of "As Long As He Needs Me" is the best we've seen yet, just a reminder that the Lord made a mistake.
Sam shouldnt go she is far better than the whole lot but Its my opion, rachel is good but her movement wasn't good in the last 2 weeks. Her facial expressions, may i add are f*ckin fantastic !!!:)

well, based on last weekend's performance i would pay a lot of money to go and see rachel, but not any of the others although they're all good in their own way. i think rachel's got great passion and a fantastic voice - i would pay to see her in concert or on a cd... i must say that sam leaves me rather cold...

But the public vote still put Rachel in the bottom two even though she received a standing ovation from ALW and the audience. Jessie should definately have been in the sing-off based on her acting alone. Dreadful attempt at cockney accent. Still I wish all 3 finalists good luck on Saturday night but I'm afraid I won't be voting for any of them.

Plastic Rachel...please!!!Throughout the competition she was professional, slick, phenomenal, outstanding and by far the best one to play Nancy. It's a disgrace that she is not in the final. Shame on you Great British Public. Most of you wouldn't know true talent if it hit you in the face! Well done, Rachel. You were amazing and I look forward to seeing you in the West End soon.

The British Public are insane.
The girl's talented, there's no denying that, but she is not Nancy, she has yet to get a cockney accent, and there's always Irish slur in her singing.
No one can speak out against Rachel's 'As Long As He Needs Me' rendition. It has been the best by far!

Well I jumped off the sofa and cheered when plastic Rachel went - her terrific performance in Cabaret just wasnt enough - (though really Jessie shouldnt be in the final)Ive backed Jodie from the start - she will be a fantastic Nancy

Look at the effort Rachel put in.
Her singing was beautiful.
Her acting was sophisticated.
Her movement was stylish.

This show is losing my respect week by week. First we said goodbye to Francesca, then to the fantastic Sarah Lark and now to the outstanding Rachel. Rachel has been consistent, every performance her cabaret blew me away and her As Long as he needs me was the best ever. I think the public should be ashamed by putting Jessie through. Lets hope if Jessie gets the part, the word Macbeth will be said in the theatre.
Samantha or Jodie to win. If theres any justice.

i didnt think francesca was that good, acting, i mean. her singing was ok though. jessie had that one amazing week, and then she went rubbish again. rachael deserved to go through tha week. shes so good. SAMANTHA TO WIN

i cant believe some people here :S calling rachel and sam bitches? why are they bitches? in my opinion i preffered sam over rachel (she makes scary faces when singing) but i ddint expect a result like that, i thought jessie would go out, even though she is one of my favs, now i want jodie 2 win i liked her right from the start :) but i dunno how the final will come out :S but remember nancy isnt the main character in this musical, i do believe that most of the girls have a huge carrer now :)

Jessie should have been voted out. She does not deserve to be in the final. Not being able to dance and having limited expression should not get you through. Clearly the Irish vote helped. Shame, as like all things like this, it ends up a popularity contest. Not a talent contest.

I love them all but I never connect with Sam when she performs...There can be miracles is one of my favourite songs but Sam didn't convay the emotion.
Rachel's performances were stunning! Carabet was so good and in the sing off I could see her becoming the role of Grizabella, she's got an amazing ability to act which I personally think Sam lacks.
Love them all though!

After Jessie, Rachel and Sam had been my favourites from the start, but I do think that Sam deserved to go last week based on the the sing off and Rachel gave an amazing performance of Cabaret that was way better than Sam's version of When You Believe. But I'm sure Rachel will land a West End role soon.
I never thought there was tension between Rachel and Sam before, but Sam was grinning throughout as long as he needs me, whilst Jessie and Jodie were barely holding it together lol.

everyone keep saying sam's amazing, but how easy have her songs been compared to rachel's? could sam sing 'i will always love you' or 'cabaret'? highly doubt it. and she cant convey anything like the emotion rachel could. ive hardly seen any acting at all in her performances...
fair enough, sam's probably the only other one who could dance well, but rachel had the full package. the others all had bits and bobs of it.

I think the choice was CM's not ALW. they definitely find out the result before GN announces it to the girls.
Samantha is the most suited to the role, especially now that Rachel is out.
It is clearly not a casting competition anylonger. I would have gone to see the show with Rachel as Nancy, as I will if Samantha wins. Unfortunately I think it'l be jessie!

Also- why is everyone slating Jessie's acting ability? I know what a good actress is having worked in professional theatre, and she's the only one who seems to understand the words!!! Sam is wooden, Jodie is a great singer but isn't gritty enough to be Nancy, and Rachel was the only other one with the emotion needed to nail the part!!!

Rachel completely outshone Samantha in 'memory'.. and 'Cabaret' was the performance of the series for me, just beating Jessie's 'The man that got away'.
Apparently Andrew really did regret his decision and im not suprised. Her 'as long as he needs me' was superb!
I so wanted her to win it. Gutted!

Samantha should have gone, I've never really liked her. Rachel should have stayed and gone on to win it, she's by far the best, the whole package. Her performance of "As Long As He Needs Me" is the best we've seen yet, just a reminder that the Lord made a mistake.
