I'm a 28 year old baritone at the beginning of my professional operatic career and what makes Katherine and Jackie principally different is that, though they are certainly vocally gifted, they sing pop sung in a classical style, not opera. They are worlds apart. Jackie should be VERY careful if she wants a voice when she's 28

She has no business being on stage with him under any circumstances.

I agree with apreggio1358. This is the kind of music her voice is suited to, ie easy listening/ballad-like/muzak soft pop and dreamy, useless kitch video clips, hair flowing and bosoms heaving. There is NOTHING exceptional about her voice. Pleasant yes, but she has no technique, no diction, no breath control. She has no business singing classical or operatic pieces in any kind of singing venue. She could have had a proper classical training but opted for the easy, and lucrative, popera way out.

I'm gobsmacked- this is SO much better than her 'opera' singing!!! This sounds genuinely nice. When she tries to sing opera she sounds like a depressed whale and it's truly horrible. I'm an opera singer and voice teacher- I really do know what I'm saying, and am not just trying to be horrible. She should really stick to this sort of music- she's really GOOD at it!
I find a bit sad that with the beautiful voice and amazing beauty that this girl has doesn't seem to have the drama and expression that is required. @bearanease i know about her supposed opera training, but I'm sorry, but she doesn't have the voice, technique, phrasing , or diction to be an opera singer. Incidentally, opera singers are singers who sing roles in complete operas in legitimate oepra houses and sing without microphones. Jenkins sings isolated opera arias in a pop style. There's nothing wrong with being a pop singer. Pop and opera are just two different genres.
There is no denying Katherine Jenkins has an outstanding voice but it is needless to say there is a lack of emotion that Sarah McLacglan's voice brings with the song

@12harby You mentioned Domingo. Once he was a great tenor, one of the greatest, and an immense stage performer. Now, at 70 and counting, he is still an artist. But he is using his diminished, dessicated instrument in ill-advised baritone roles (Boccanegra, Rigoletto), sings others transposed down, and is obviously making a lot of money in useless, publicised kitsch concerts which include your silicone diva KJ as boob eye candy. She has no business being on stage with him under any circumstances.

I enjoy all kinds of music, from opera (which is NOT boring and can give you moments of immense dramatic truth in the theatre), to modern pop to rock to classical to disco to Greek popular. The only genre I cannot stand is jazz. I am guided by taste, knowledge, and common sense. Your fake diva KJ cannot under any circumstances be taken seriously as a singer. Neither operatic nor pop, she is cheap, fluffy elevator muzak.

I agree with apreggio1358. This is the kind of music her voice is suited to, ie easy listening/ballad-like/muzak soft pop and dreamy, useless kitch video clips, hair flowing and bosoms heaving. There is NOTHING exceptional about her voice. Pleasant yes, but she has no technique, no diction, no breath control. She has no business singing classical or operatic pieces in any kind of singing venue. She could have had a proper classical training but opted for the easy, and lucrative, popera way out.

I'm gobsmacked- this is SO much better than her 'opera' singing!!! This sounds genuinely nice. When she tries to sing opera she sounds like a depressed whale and it's truly horrible. I'm an opera singer and voice teacher- I really do know what I'm saying, and am not just trying to be horrible. She should really stick to this sort of music- she's really GOOD at it!

@bearanease i know about her supposed opera training, but I'm sorry, but she doesn't have the voice, technique, phrasing , or diction to be an opera singer. Incidentally, opera singers are singers who sing roles in complete operas in legitimate oepra houses and sing without microphones. Jenkins sings isolated opera arias in a pop style. There's nothing wrong with being a pop singer. Pop and opera are just two different genres.
