I think predicting future economics is unrealistic, especially to year 2050. The so called emmerging economies may have fast growth, but are so far behind technologically, compared to the USA, UK, Japan, etc, that even if there economies overtake the current big guns, they will still lag behind technologically. The likes of the UK as example, need to use its current technology superiority, instead of selling of everything when the UK developes it, then we will see if these 2050 stats stack up.

These numbers are relative, what really matters is the quality of life of people. Norway, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, Luxembourg, are not there, for example and the quality of their people lives is far greater than any of these countries.

I think predicting future economics is unrealistic, especially to year 2050. The so called emmerging economies may have fast growth, but are so far behind technologically, compared to the USA, UK, Japan, etc, that even if there economies overtake the current big guns, they will still lag behind technologically. The likes of the UK as example, need to use its current technology superiority, instead of selling of everything when the UK developes it, then we will see if these 2050 stats stack up.

Look.... china is a very rich country there becoming this through manufacturing. this is how all the supper powers today came to be. but there is too many people in china to sustain everyone with a good living. its in my view impossible for the time being. i'll be dead when this happens in a few generations down the line... UK and US dominate the the world and they still are. if i wasnt for the UK the US would of never been the greatest contry. it was called Great Britain for a reason....

@webkey1234 excuse me don't get me wrong I think the UK is Americas best Friend in the world but France saved us from UK in the Rev War and then we saved you and France twice WWI and WWII. So if it wasn't for us you would be speaking German right now.

the problem a see with most of these videos. is people are using current growth for developing country's. there is no way a country can grow that fast that long. inflation would in turn destroy there economy because well they would no longer be the cheap go to country to make goods in.

nigeria indonesia and mexico's position is a laugh and shows once and for all how stupid economist are and why it is called the dismal science. they take a current trend and extrapolait it out 40 years thinking current rates can sustain over that long. in 2050 germany and japan will still make the best products in thw rold which can demand a premium. what can china or indonesia make?
