@elibeth121 - Any theist of any religion could use this same explanation, but we still wouldn't be able to tell if anyone is correct. The obvious question is how do you know it was God's voice? I could have very well been Allah or any other god; we aren't able to tell the difference. @Critic863 I asked God for faith to believe in him and he did. I asked him to reveal my sins for me and he did, he showed me what I had to do to change. I did not want to change, I liked my bad habits. Later on the road, I cried out to him and he started to change me and my faith started to grow in him. I started reading the bible, singing in a christian band, gaining Christian friends, and going to church. There is so much peace and so much joy it overwhelms you.

Anytime I think of the Abrahamic gods, the only thing that comes to mind is the character, Trelane, from the original Star Trek series. Trelane was a spoiled, impulsive, self-centered alien child (equivalent to a 4 year old) with god-like powers. I could have very well been Allah or any other god; we aren't able to tell the difference. But if I ended up believing and the Bible turned out to be true, I would neither honor nor worship him just because of looking at the world around me. I don't see it as the product of a loving god.

@Critic863 I asked God for faith to believe in him and he did. I asked him to reveal my sins for me and he did, he showed me what I had to do to change. I did not want to change, I liked my bad habits. Later on the road, I cried out to him and he started to change me and my faith started to grow in him. I started reading the bible, singing in a christian band, gaining Christian friends, and going to church. There is so much peace and so much joy it overwhelms you.

I just realized why. It's because of the personality of these two characters - they're like Laurel and Hardy in that respect.

Anytime I think of the Abrahamic gods, the only thing that comes to mind is the character, Trelane, from the original Star Trek series. Trelane was a spoiled, impulsive, self-centered alien child (equivalent to a 4 year old) with god-like powers. @AtheistToothFairy Sure, it is a non-profit organization that discusses their beliefs and views on God and religion and asks for donations. They have a community they speak to and this is that communities forum, their church.

2. They don't really discuss their 'views on god', for they don't believe in any gods.
3. Yes they do discuss religion(s), for it's mostly the religious that take exception to their views
4. Their membership fee (as I recall) is a mere 24 dollars/year, which is far less than most churches require one to tithe and about what a magazine subscription would cost.
I don't call that a means for them to get rich, do you?

You know if someone told me that Zeus was God and they said ok but if you believe in him know you one thing, if you make one mistake then you won't be forgiven and he won't love you and you will be eternally damned to the underworld. I would say to hell with Zeus! Why would I even want to bother worshiping such an unmerciful God? I am so glad the One True God is not the way you depict him. See I read and I am not that stupid to follow a God unmerciful. He warns, warns, warns, then punishes.

So do I think that God is an egotist. No, I think that satan is. I think that anyone who puts his ego over the truth or over his own argument is not a true believer of that which he professes. As you have said many times one must have an open mind. It doesn't mean i have to convert to Islam or become and Atheist it just requires listening to something you think is unreasonable and being ready to answer with what you know is reasonable.

I had to facepalm just because of how STUPID that was. We can see air (Vapors), we can measure it, we can see what it does, we can test it, even find what it's made of. I believe this because I would think, people like yourselves, would be willing to hear the other side and be willing to listen. The reason so many so-called Christians won't let you speak is because you have hit a wall or a barrier or a stop in their programming and it makes them defensive. They can't explain their beliefs nor rationalize them because they weren't given that program. They were only programmed to spew certain things but never to rationalize them.

So has the book of Enoch been removed. Someone in the new testament refers to that book and how they read it in the book of Enoch or it is written in the book of Enoch. I don't have that reference in front of me, but from memory, this is what I am recalling, something about that book is mentioned specifically, but the book itself like the book of Jasher is missing. I know that revelations has also been rearranged as well. so if you really read it, then all real information will be distorted.

You will not find it in the bible by the way, it has been removed, you will see how the bible is written very different(the book of Genesis is one of the books that was altered). It tells you more detail and the Book of Joshua and The Book of II Samuel speak about the book of Jasher. Saying isn't it written in the book of Jasher.

Most Christians are brainwashed into not reading their bible and just taking the word of the preacher. This is bad. This bad because if you don't read nor ever seek the truth for yourself than you will not be able to discern the truth from the lies. Even you can see the inconsistencies of the way that organized religions(I'm talking about those who put labels such as Catholic, Baptist, Jehovah Witness, ect) speak and the way that the bible speaks. 3a) As far as the old testament. There is a book left out. The book of Jasher. This book tells us how wicked Sodom and Gomorrah really were and what their evil deeds were. It was more than Homosexuality. It is similar to what America does to Foreigners. They would trap a stranger who wanted to stay the night in their town and give him silver and gold, but then would not let him buy any food with it and sit and wait for him to starve to death, fight over his body and take back the silver and gold

A life for a life. The lamb had to be perfect and without blemish as the law of moses requires. From his conception he was without sin. Now repentance of the whole heart was all that was required.

2a) Jesus fulfilled one aspect of the law the rest he says is in place. I have not come to abolish the law nor the prophets he said. He also added that not one jot nor one tittle shall pass from the law until heaven and earth pass. So first the sacrifice for sin was fulfilled, leaving the rest of the law in tact and yes some sacrifices too, but they cannot be done unless one has a holy place to fulfill this.
