  • before you start the video, turn it all the way up!

  • I remember hearing the Broadmoor siren go off in 1993 when there was an actual escape, that was pretty scary for a 12 year old

  • @kaidean Kai Dean, brother of Jake?

  • @opiate115 Indeed, who is this?

  • so far and yet so loud

  • man id hate to hear this bad boy while having my morning breakfast that would suck

  • oh no could not live through that every monday morning.

  • is there a siren in camberley somewhere to?

  • That's a fair old test! Surely about 30 seconds each would suffice?

  • He is there because it goes off every Monday morning at 10am, just to check it's working.

  • i saw tht this vid was 7 minutes long and imma gtfo now.

  • I'd go mental too if I had to sit through this every monday!

  • Slow hi-lo on crack is slow

  • Eugh, creeepy. The thing is, I'd find waking up to the all-clear signal scarier than the Hi-lo one.

  • Haha what happens if someone escapes there at 10am On a Monday morning?

  • @LoghornsProductions They are all registered at 10am. So they cannot escape.

  • @LoghornsProductions That's what I thought When I first heard about it. lol

  • This is the european version of the 3T22. doesn't spin as fast as the 3T22 though

  • The high damper is stuck open

  • Riddle me this....IF that siren is going off, why is he still standing around, im pretty sure hes about to kiss a bomb in the faccccce LOL

  • @eistskape It's a weekly test siren for the local mental institution

  • @eistskape As the otherguy said, its a weekly test siren for the mental institution. It goes off every monday morning at 10am. This alarm will go off if one of the inmates escapes. Broadmoor mental istitution holds the UKs worst Psychopaths. We wanna hope that alarm doesnt go off at any time other than 10am lol.

  • good model of siren!

  • lol sirene CS8

  • hmmm I want to hear it in "attack" mode, would be interesting.

  • @jackcashel. They put them into their cells or whatever you call them during the test. And make sure nothing happens. The NHS are not that stupid!

  • Cool - nicely done. ... (don't tell 'em where I am though.. lol)

It would be an awesome place for an Urbex mission if it ever closed ;)

  • Creative Suite

  • sounds like an sth 10

  • The American sirens do hi-lo alot faster. More like you police sirens. They have more of a wee-woo sound.

  • Slowest High Low I've ever heard. Of course, I'm used to the high speed 3T22s and Thunderbolt 1003s here in the U.S.

  • SEEEEEEGAAAAAA!

  • World's spookiest Hi-Lo. I could totally imagine hearing this thing blare while walking around Silent Hill...

  • thats exactly what i was thinking

  • it's pretty loud!

  • what's with the Hi-Low? I thought it's meant to be a Wallowing siren. I don't get it.

  • Great video. Love the wind down into all clear part @ 3:02

  • is there a siren in the broadmoor campus-not just in crowthorne

  • @juaniluco888. There are 13 sirens within a proximity of broadmoor. With one on Broadmoor itself.

  • Comment removed

  • Its in the Members Song... Sound of the Suburbs... its Cool I heard it every monday morning at 10

  • if you look at it sideways , it looks like a big de-horned federal signal 3t22 and kinda sounds like one too.

  • what does CS stand for?

  • it takes a long time to wind down!

  • WHAT IS A C. S. ?

  • wots the purpose of this siren?

  • @Mortltd Broadmoor is a hospital for the mentally insane. It warns the area if an in-mate gets loose!!

  • @Mortltd nucleur attacks and nukes only :(

  • quarintine alarm most likely or a outbreak alarm sence after all its near a HOSPITAL

  • @Mortltd It is part of the siren system (there are 13 sirens around the local area and one on the hospital campus itself) of Broadmoor Secure Hospital. It is part of the HM Prison Service in the UK and it is a secure prison hospital for the criminally insane. psychopathic prisoners

  • crappy solenoids. lolz!

  • @gerbilPROJECT Agreed

    One of them isn't working...

  • What's the all-clear sound? It all kinda sounds the same!

  • @J20M07. It's a long single note.

While the alert tone is Hi-Lo

  • Thats the kind of alarm when you hear first thing that goes through your head is "RUN FOR IT"

  • Imagine being off your head on LSD when that thing goes off. Lmao.

  • It look like a stripped 3t22 on it's side

  • @hootergirlsrhot

    That's basically what it is.

  • wow... does this use a damper or solenoids?? sounds just like a 3t22!!1

  • solenoids are what opens and closedes the dampers

  • Love It!

  • that always goes off while im in my geography class lol

  • it goes off at 10.00 everyday, when everyone is awake, still drive you crazy though

  • i would fucking hate to wake up to that thing sounding off that thing sounds all to freaky on top of possibly having your house broke into by a schitzo

  • world ends when ya here this

  • amen to that kenfig

  • Do you know what ? before too long ordinary people will be put in places like this for not paying their T.V. licence or taxing their cars ; theyre already threatening us to 'crush our cars' & our bollocks if we make a wrong move & they do see our every move cos we got cameras up our arses 24 / 7

  • kill them

  • thats sounds scary

  • a few days of this and i would be going to the mad house as well LOL.... i understand why they have to test it due to if some one gets out of the mad house and gose on a killing spree.

can we put the labor party and bankers in broadmoor since its for the Criminally Insane.

i would love to see brown trying to hop over the wall at night time in a straight jacket LOL

  • Damn right hatter ! John Lennon put it well when he said "the world is being run by insane people for insane objectives"

  • thats true kenfig! any way i got my own back on a noisy neighbour of mine who plays his music till 2 in the morning but not now LOL i just put this vid on full blast and played it over and over agen.HAHAHAHAHA now i am also criminally insane :D

  • Must be Monday i worked at the place lods of dosh.

  • bring back the death penalty for these nutters, what is the point of them being alive after some psychological info has been collected about them and the crimes

    kill them

  • Not all patients in broadmoor are criminals. just violent, i dont think you understand mental illness you sicko

  • i am not a sicko thanks and the place is for the criminally insane

  • usually a fire call

  • Sounds like there is a dodgy damper on this one

  • Comment removed

  • rude just rude

  • when you hear this, it means GET THE FUCK OUT !!!! SAVE YOUR ASSES !!! FUCK !!!!

  • It's still possible to hear them...

  • "yes they are still in production." they just removed the one down my road it mailfunctiond well bad it will hope fully be replaced by new ones soon but it will take some time

    ouch !

  • hell of a long wind down

  • ok..... u r 1 fuked up perv

  • Well I'm glad they caught them again.

Do they always escape on Monday mornings?

  • lol no

  • weird sounding siren :D

hi-lo sounds a bit sick or slow.

  • kind of sounds like a T-bolt just not quite as much of a raspy growl to it though. But still very nice.

  • what do you like or hate about the 2001 is the way it sound or the way it rotates?

  • Comment removed

  • right, i agree this old siren shown here does not sound like the Federal Signal 2001-130 or a Federal Signal 3t22.

  • thats really cool, I had one near my house from a firehouse, sounded different, but so loud

  • Dan do you were hearing protection while recording?

  • Carstairs - After the escape of Robert Mone and Thomas McCulloch on St Andrew's Day in 1976 during which they murdered a patient, a nurse and a policeman, the hospital set up an alarm system. This alarm system is based on World War II air-raid sirens, and a two-tone alarm sounds across the whole area in the event of an escape. The system is tested on the third Thursday of every month at 1300hrs for two minutes, after which a single tone 'all-clear' is sounded for a further two minutes.

  • Ashworth is noted for the weekly test of its alarm system, sounded at 9:00AM every Monday morning. Such an alarm system is audible in much of the surrounding area, as far afield as the outskirts of Kirkby and Skelmersdale. This alarm system is intended to warn residents and institutions of escapees, of which there have been two in its history as a psychiatric hospital

  • 10:00 AM actually

  • true but I can hear it from crosby.

  • Broadmoor sent out an all clear recently on the thursday of the half term, fogoten the specific date, wonder if that was actual or a BT tech felt like doing a prank.

  • it was BT

  • PILOTS, MAN YOUR PLANES!!! LOL

  • how many watt/volts and rpm is this siren running

  • more like an aysylm

  • he works their right?

  • man that's creepy, especially with all the fog around

  • woo go farnborough!! lol

  • i live near broadmoor and i have a siren down our lane. i live on this hill in a lane with 10 other houses and we got 1 smack next to us, its soo loudd. the thing which scares me is if i hear it on another day beside monday 10:00 am. u can image waking up on a rainy night hearing it and see a crazy dude outside ya house tabing on the window with knife licking his lips rofl, lcuky thing is i live at school so i dont hear it often rofl. also i live with my dad often in farnborough

  • its basicly a 3t22 sidways without its horns but the tone is almost the same

  • you were far and it was still loud. can you imagine how it would be if you were close?

  • Nice siren test. am happy that i do not have to put up with that near me thank god.

that wold shit me up when i was a sleep in bed

and that went off at say 3:00am :(

  • yh 10am monday morning i hear it and i live in farnborough which is quit far away people like the reggie kray(kray twins) and tha yorkshire ripper wer in there

  • farnborough lol i live there, i live next to tht big park :P

  • wakes me up every monday morning

  • sonds like a bagpipe!

  • Well...Former "Broadmoor" nobody from "Nurse and Baby" Ward. We were all up by then to go to "shop" or "Gym" to get our attendance allowance.

Never met a cannibal, but lots of sad, destroyed men with nothing to live for.I got out after one year,no criminal charge. So that's my admission, now I'm Fine and Free!

  • that bastard racket used 2wake me up after a night shift.still i supose its better than getn eatn by some escaped broadmoor canibal

  • In america, they use the all clear signal (Steady Tone) for Tornado Warnings. They call it "Alert Signal" in america.

  • right , i agree the attack signal (Wail Tone) can be use for tornado warnings as well depending on the area or city in America you live in our two new 2001-130's are already set on the wail tone the wail tone reminds me of the old attack signal.

  • Looks pretty loud, this is in UK? What is it used for?

  • To warn folk of escaped inmates at the 'hospital' for the criminally insane nearby. This has housed some of THE most dangerous psychopaths EVER in the U.K. e.g. serial child killers, other psycho mass killers & rapists,etc.etc.etc. Like our version of 'Silence of the Lambs' types

  • Omg man that would be horrifying to wake up to, and know someone crazy is escaped :(

    Thats for the info tho

  • Sounds scary!

  • Bollocks.Derelict 60 yr olds, and many fucked up kids...that's the danger.

  • They were meant to be used during world war 2.

  • Looks pretty loud, this is in UK? What is it used for?

  • They are used for when a patient escapes from the hospital.

  • Look, if it wasnt for this siren, one minute we'd be eating our breakfast & the next someone would be pulling our eyes out with a spoon - i think that the most dangerous inmates should have a device planted INSIDE their heads, so if they go outside of a protective field, their head EXPLODES ,like on 'The Running Man' movie or 'Scanners' - THEN we would feel safer all round- extra insurance you see

  • look adc my comment was not serious it was a joke - i know a lot about emotional illnesses which are serious though your condition is not a personality disorder many in broadmoor are criminally insane ; theyre convicts but id still never seriously advocate KILLING them ; in many ways their suffering alive is WORSE than death

  • kill em

  • Bloody 'ell, mate. I'm glad the all clear one sounded off. I was getting a bit worried then! I take it they got the fugitive. They must have caught up with them by following the trail of blood, guts and corpses of the innocent. Shoot to kill.

PS my computer's not working very well after playing this clip. And my ears hurt.

  • BTW, they test the siren at 10:00 AM every monday, which was when this was recorded, so no one escaped.

  • Yep. I get it. Just hope we don't one day end up with a "cry-wolf" scenario when the all-clear fails to sound out after the poor nut bags escape at 10am on a Monday.

  • I lived in crowthorne all my life your pretty much ignore it now. we did used to climb both sirens as kids, theres been a few escapes over the years and as most of the schools are by woods we would have the day off incase the broadmoor nutter was hiding in them, which i always thought was quite dumb as if i escaped i wannna get as far away a pos rather then hang about but it was cool for us as we had no school!!!!

  • Fancy having to hear that every Monday.

  • i agree with you fancy enough to hear our sirens America to go off on the first Saturday of the month every month at 12noon.

  • @csx2295 for me its first Wed.

  • @racer927 older sirens in the UK are kinda rare to find today are they?

  • @racer927 same here first wed at 11am

  • Thing is,theres REAL psycopathic MONSTERS in Broadmoor - kill you as good as look at you for NO REASON except their FUN !! LOCK YOUR FUCKIN DOORS if you here this and wait for the ARMY !!

  • Crikey you go deaf if you stand next to that on tower! cool Vids and you must be cold while filming it?

  • im so interested in the noise of klaxons like that.. They freak me out!

  • Did that startle you when it first sounded? Its the first Klaxon I've heard sound like that before.

  • oh LUKE284 it hardly deafens people does it ?

  • The HI-LO sounded cool even though it was slow. Looks like the weather there I see seems cold.

  • It's the "English weather still sucks" alarm.

  • wow that was mint......it makes me think of 28 days later

  • solenoids sound pretty slow

  • Does anyone know if there's a CD of mental hospital sirens from around the world? It would make a lovely christmas present.

  • LOL! : ))
