Mac may be slim, but he don' look in good shape! Whoa... Drummer's name= Joseph "Zigaboo" Modeliste. Lives in the SF bay area & can be caught with his band @ Pier 23 some Sundays. If you're in San Francisco, check it out!!! zigaboo dot com

I think the congas are fine, playing wise, but mix wise, they are wayyyy out front, very un-balanced mix between the drums/congas. Other than that, this 'ish is FON-KEE!!! = ) Zig is keepin it real w/ that setup, use whatcha got, & make it do what it do baby!!!!
Only discovered the Meters early this year, January or so, I love their 1st three albums. Check out my account to hear more of their stuff from Look-Ka Py Py, self titled album and Struttin'
The Meters are one of the great bands ever and it's fantastic to see one of their big tunes from back in the day. A friend wanted to show me John Mayer's Cissy Strut, but I took him here to see/hear the original...way better.
Thank you. The Meters is one of my all time favorite bands. Very influential. It's amazing how tight they sound. Funkiness at its highest. And thanks for that 'extra' introduction by Dr John.
That conga player sucks. The beauty of the Meters is tasteful restraint and funky syncopation. He has neither.

I love Dr. John's intro to this. It's so characteristic of him.
This is an amazing performance as well. The meters get down and funky here.
