@lowfirepierce I don't remember how the original sounded like because the turntable was my dad's and it already had been replaced many years back, but I couldn't find any stylus that would fit the previous cartrige, so I bought this one and a spare stylus. But I must say that it sounds damn good :D
It's not A good Idea to Have the Turntable To close To the speakers because 1. it vibrates and can wear the needle faster do to vibration and 2 because the cartrudge can pick up the audio outputed by the speakers and cause feedback witch is not good for the amp.
I have the same reel to reel philips machine.... vintage philips amplifiers sounded much better than other's in that time, I changed many amplifiers and finally I stopped on the philips HiFi tuner amplifier 734... which was the best of all..
The volume knob has small increments, with a total of 50, if I raise te volume to 4 or 5 increments with the cd player which has a very high output the windows start shaking, I think if I manged to put it half way I'd blow a fuse or something :D This babies are LOUD!!!! But I love them and they're only 120W each!
Yeah well, I say that because today you see speakers much smaller and with more watts, so I guess the size of them creates the illusion of being stronger then that. Well they are strong enough to shake and rattle everything in the living room LOL.
Thanks. No I'm keeping it anyway I guess it's a rare cd player as there is no reference to it in the internet, I opened it to get it working (it wouldn't even read any cd before)and in the main board was written "HAITAI HCD-110"
Thanks for the tip. I keep the volume low anyways, but when the SL-PD6 arrives I'll put the turntable where the current cd player is and the PD6 will be under it.
On top of the speakers? Worst place you could put any turntable dude

All you have to do is hook your computer with a 3.5mm jack to RCA cable on your AUX input of your amplifier.

120w is not low powered lol I laugh when people say that 100-500 watts is low lol.

You shouldn't put the turntable on the speaker. Vibrations will be transmited to the phono cartridge.
