To be fair, the creators of the game weren't exactly in the habit of changing a character's model mid-map, much less mid-cinematic. It was either have the eyepatch before, or both eyes after - missing an eye was simply too important to Xiahou Dun's design to show him with both eyes.

As a matter of fact some versions actually make up events to support the faction the translator favours. (Most notably Liu Bie) Cao Cao is often shown to be the 'villian' but it doesnt mean its true. We only have whats written down to go by right?
