  • Last time there was for CaveStomp 2007, LastTree, so hopefully we'll get another chance to head your way before hanging it up for good. Trusting you and yours are safe as Irene rocks the East Coast and that we do indeed perform in NYC and/or New England (axeblaster1000) one day soon!

  • They sound great, come to NYC!

  • I'm from Boston, so I got introduced to this song by the Lyres. Then about 10 years ago I discovered that you were the guys who did "Things I'd Like To Say"...I've been a ravenous fan ever since! Good stuff, glad you're still doing it!

  • @axeblaster1000 Met Jeff and the lads in 2007 when we both played an event called CaveStomp 2007 in New York. We did our song on Saturday night, and Jeff, who paid us the honor of requesting permission to play it when they went on Sunday, did just that. Unfortunately, we had to fly out Sunday morning so never heard the Lyres covering "I Confess" live, but I've had the record for years and loved their version, albeit a wee bit less than our own!

  • This song brings back great memories.! I haven't heard this song for years.! One of the great ones from my younger days . I'm glad good music like this refuses to die off , because the crap today that's called music isn't.!!! Thanks for keeping it alive !

  • Damn, even today...this song rocks with melody and subtle key changes. In many ways its as good as the Beatles songs from their 1965-66 period.

  • I'm dating myself but who cares...lol. This group played for our prom and this song in particular has all sorts of shady memories attached to it. What a great sound!

  • you saw one of the most amazing bands of the sixties then, they're tops!

  • Nice video, well done, awesume tune, excellent sound. Rock ON

  • Can anyone tell me where to get the "Sides" cd for New Colony? I have all the original albums but am not sure where to get this one. How many of the original members still play in the band? It would be great to see Ronnie with them again. Who was the original drummer...Chic James?

  • Reverse order = Chic was our original drummer; Ronnie does join us, albeit rarely, for a tune or two; 2 of us were with NC6 back in the day, but only I am a founder in the current line-up, but with one personnel change in the past 12 years - to me, all of the current members have earned "official" membership in the Colony; "Sides" is a release out of the UK, Rev-Ola is the label, look on eBay, or through online sites like Amazon. Thanks for the interest - ran out of characters - Peace, bc191!

  • Damn, is there anything that beats the sound of the great 60's garage bands?

  • Not to my ears... subjective and highly biased though they might be. Thank you for the compliment, whisky2roxy & Happy Halloween; most current music = tricks; garage bands = treats!

  • wow..incredible - great harmonies. I could barely remember their hit Things I'd Like To Say (was 10 then). Haunted me for years as to who the band was and the name of the song until I sang all that I could recall "Baby Baby it's you I'm thinking of" to a record store employee in NYC who solved the mystery. great band, great music (all 4 60's LPs -). Come to southern cal.! we get revival bands at Pittsford Park in Lake Forest. Buckinghams, Grass Roots, etc...all the Best!

  • Thank you, revup67! We would love to come to SoCal, but need a gig to cover expenses. If you have or can find connections for the Pittsford Park venue, please get in touch, fill us in and we'll take it from there. We had a dynamite gig last night in Bolingbrook, IL - huge bandshell, hillside seating - more than 5000 in the house - pro lighting & effects, and a four camera shoot by the village so if I can get a copy, perhaps you'll see a new video come out of the performance. Stay tuned!

  • Pre-Ronnie Rice

  • Correct - Ronnie was not a founding member of the band and did not appear on the Breakthrough album at all. He was on most of the material off the Colonization album, as well as on everything from Revelations and Attacking A Straw Man. Good catch! Note that Ronnie still performs solo but only rarely appears with us since the reunion effort came about 20 years ago this summer. Current band line-up has far outlasted the founders. Still incredible fun for all of us; thanks for your support...

  • that song. and they are as good and they were, or better than they were 68 years ago.

    they rule. the song rules.

  • You are too kind - and it was 73 years ago, not 68... Lookin' pretty awesome for guys into their second century, don't ya think?

  • Still sounding good. The more I hear of this group, the more of a fan I am.

  • Saw the Northlake performance. NC6 60's music is totally cool. Hope to see and hear NC6 perform again this summer..

  • First saw this band at a club called "Wine and Roses" in Schiller Park, IL. This was before they had any hits, but I thought that they had something special. Good rocking band and had some very nice hits. Thanks for posting.

  • Wine & Roses is where we cut our teeth and began to mature as a band. With a 4 AM liquor license and few drunks capable of staying upright until that time, we often had hours to practice. The proprietor hired us for all night and into the morning, so we had to play all night and into the morning. One of our most "regular" gigs during the formative years of NC6. Thanks for the kind words... glad that you enjoyed the video.

  • Just saw this band tonight - still high energy and fun almost 40 years after seeing them the first time....A Chicago band that really deserved more national attention...
