i think uni filter which is made of foam is better than k&n ...but its carburettor tuning is very difficult !! but ur fz is producing nice sound...congrats !!
@ The IRONMANPRO: What you have seen is an After-market product for FZ-16. I remember seeing em' new in an automobile shop when I was searching for a good Air-horn (which I found). Anyway, search in your locality for a good automobile shop where they deal with all kinds of 2Wh stuff (kinda like black-market), and I'm sure 1 out of 5 such shops would have it in stock!

As far as I've experienced, only the K&N rig won't help you gain much power for the bike. All it does is mod your bike's sound, and may be a slight increase in the initial speed and the top speed (not considerable). However, if you use the K&N on a bike which has an up-jetted carb, you will see the actual difference. In fact, I've even got the Piston changed to R15's piston, and increased the dia. of the bore. My FZ 16 is a ROCKET now!
@avihacks hii i also own FZ , can u tell me how can get that yamaha logo above tail light to glow ? I saw one FZ..in that all Yamaha logos(one above tail light , two on right and left side , below petrol tank , fitted in fibre cover) were glowing...looked fabulous !!
Air filter requires timely maintainence and proper fitting...any gaps in the fitting means dirt goin to the carb and engine problems, ..needs to be cleaned every 1000kms with proper cleaning kit without damaging the material of air filter....carb needs to be upjetted to get that little extra power

it increases air flow so it get more air for fuel combustion in that case more fuel is used to get more power which is equal to drop in mileage
this for power lover not for money lovers and it will cost around 1500-2500 or more as per state...
