  • Thank you!

  • I love this clip. ♥

  • hooray punx!! hahaaaa

  • @southboy99 and Christ told Judas to take the lamb back; they ate bread only

  • @southboy99 and God gave Noah concession to eat cold blooded things until the flood went away.

    Also, read Romans 14:20-21, Genesis 1:29-30, Isaiah 66:3, Proverbs 15:17, Numbers 11:3/11:18-34

  • @southboy99 um. Mistranslated verse. They were bunches of grapes. Not fish.

  • @Ravenapoe, sorry Hitler wasn't a vegetarian. he sometimes ate meat, making him a flexitarian. he wasn't truly veggie....

  • "They're not here for us, we're here for them."

    Beautiful!

  • Beautiful song mate, bought a tear to my eye, mind you, these days I tear witnessing a mother cat nurturing her kittens, or a bud blossoming to flower to greet the sun, people tell me I have something wrong with me, well, if this is the worst of it I'm a happy chappy.

Your song conveys a heart felt, intimate sense of connectedness with ALL life, it's sad that people still need coercing to live life causing as little unnecessary suffering as possible. Thanks Paul

  • Hello Paul

Once again you have written some very compelling lyrics. I am sure that in Matthew 5 where Jesus said "Blessed are the merciful for they will be shown mercy" and Blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called sons of God that he meant us to be at peace with all creatures as we are able. In my opinion a true Christian in this time of food plenty will live such a life! and such peacefulness will help us heal the world!.

    Best Regards George

  • Test.

  • ( I meant character count )

Ironic that man's *food* animals are in no danger of extinction while the ones he doesn't are in grave danger.

I love a good debate ;-) Thank you very much and hope you have a wonderful, fulfilling life.

You seem like a good human....

  • Not my intention to anger, hope I haven't.

My comments were addressed more to the people who commented rather than to you.

What bothered me the most is the fact that the Bible, Talmud and Koran give man dominion over all animals. In fact I do not recollect mention of kindness to animals in any of those books.

We *are* animals. The other animals feel

pain and fear just as we do yet most fail to recognize this. Pity for the other animals.

    Damned this 500 word limit...continued

  • And I don't understand your comment: " What's written in the Bible means nothing to me."

Your video is regarding Jesus who is mentioned in only one book....The Bible.

There are no other historical accounts.

If one is a vegetarian because of empathy and respect for animals it is indeed a noble thing.

If one is a vegetarian for health, religion or to feel superior in some way.....Nope, not so noble.

  • I wrote that song to try to strike a chord with hypocritical Christians, Buddhists and Muslims, who worship the messenger but have forgotten the ORIGINAL message: not to harm animals at all. I'm not religious but am not a total atheist. I believe humans' purpose on this planet is to preserve 'Creation' and protect the innocent eg animals and children. Whether humans are 'meant' to be carnivores or not, we have a choice: good or evil. I'm vego because I love animals not for piety or selfishness.

  • @Raveneapoe you don't need to be a vegetarian to respect animals...

  • @Agrikultur You absolutely do! That makes no sense at all, what you say!

  • @Lisamarie1968 for Indians cows are divine, for some Indians rats are divine, etc, but they still eat meat..

  • There are very few good sources of B-12 in vegetables. Grains...but they require cooking in order to be eaten in any quantity.

Most herbivorous do not possesses binocular vision, most have eyes set to the sides to allow for greater peripheral vivion to watch for carnivores.

Gorillas are omnivores and I wasn't talking about ripping a buffalo's throat, Insects, birds, small mammals and etc.

The Inuit and some other native peoples ate raw meat until a few decades ago...Some people still do.

  • I suppose history depends upon which version one believes. But as I said before, why it is also condoned and encouraged by God Himself as written in the Old testament .

And why did God design humans unable to create their own vitamin B-12? Why do we have incisors? Why binocular vision?

If God created us why did He make us omnivores ?

Of course I don't expect answers to these questions. I throw them out to make people think for *themselves*.

  • From someone who does think for himself: What's written in the Bible means nothing to me. I have no faith in it. We may not be able to manufacture our own B-12 but meat isn't the only source. We have incisors for the same reason as our vegetarian cousins (gorillas): for eating fruit. Our teeth are incapable of chewing raw meat. We can't even digest it properly. It was the discovery of fire which allowed us to become omnivores. Binocular vision?: Many animals have it including most herbivores.

  • Reply to TheyBasterdisedJesus :

I have researched it. Hitler professed to being a practicing vegetarian.

I did however find a lot of vegetarian composed articles denying this though. ;-)

  • Perhaps you should have researched a bit more carefully. This mistaken assumption comes from a widely quoted statement which HItler made saying that he didn't like meat. However, he followed that statement by saying that his favorite foods included the inner organs of animals. Even if Hitler was a vegetarian, that does not make it OK for us to harm innocents to satisfy our passing appetites. Eating animals not only harms the animals, it harms us along with our precious planetary ecology.

  • Adolph Hitler was a vegetarian...

  • Saddam Hussein ate meat... so what?

  • So one's dietary habits have nothing to do with one's inherent goodness or evil. As I said, Hitler was a vegetarian.

  • hitler was not a vegetarian. at all. go read further than the propaganda.

  • Even if he was it means nothing. No-one is totally good or totally evil. A lot of people are vegetarian for selfish reasons only: to live longer and to smell better! Many of us would be vego even if it was a death sentence because we believe, as Jesus did, that to kill to live is evil.

  • You're right. A lot of meat eaters are good people and a few vegos are arseholes! However, if we choose something which causes suffering when we don't really need to, what does that say about us?

  • PCWSEYMOUR: I appreciate your honesty and intelligence.

First I must confess I am Agnostic and a meat eater. In fact as far as Judaism, Christianity and Muslim beliefs I would confess to being atheist.

But you are right as far as killing animals as food, it *is* barbaric. But it is also condoned and encouraged by God Himself as written in the Bible.

So how do we reconcile that with your religion?

I'm not a troll honest. I just want to know....

  • Wonderful! Encore!

  • Bro. PCWSEYMOUR excellent video. Christ Yeshu was a vegetarian. Only in the Gospel of Peace and the Gospel of the Holy Twelve and the Books of Enoch will mankind learn the true teachings of our creator and his will and desire for us all. Not only was JC a vegetarian but so was John the Baptist, Elizabeth, Zacharias, Mary and Joseph. Bless you for this video.

  • There is no way Jesus was a vegetarian...if he was that way inclined he would have been a vegan

  • Maybe he was a vegan! It's a historical probability that Jesus was raised and educated by the Essene monks. They were vegetarians who ate dairy and eggs from their own well kept animals (unlike cows and chooks these days). So historians believe that He and His cousin John the Baptist were vegetarian. Vegetarians aren't necessarily vegan but vegans are vegetarian. Is that clear, Tez?

  • Just generating some fuel for the fire

  • no maybe about it. the definition of a saint is the "merciful"

go look at my 3 vids. proves jesus was vegetarians.

whatsmore, who gives a rats ass about human vegetarians and their qualities, let them be assholes

u go vegetarian to not contribute to a terror organisation of barbarism called the meat industry.

have some guts and stop looking for excuses.

  • Lovely song, Paul. Please write more in this vein. I've often wondered why Paul McCartney hasn't written songs about animal rights and vegetarianism. Perhaps he has and I just haven't heard them.

  • Thank you Paul. I really enjoyed it.

  • hopefully the world might change for the better with vegan music, thankyou for starting it as i have always wanted to get this view over to the masses and wondered how, but it still astounds me why vetanism should be not mentioned more as to use dairy is still as cruel as killing, .........its just as bad, maybe you are a vegan and you just wanted to get the message over more understandable, what is your websight

  • It's an obvious step in the right direction once you've felt whats good...

  • "Maybe we're here for them.. "

That is the greatest meaning of life theory I have heard ever.

  • Excellent!

Imagine Jesus taking his axe or a knife, and goes out to slay a lamb, spilling all that blood, holding it with his hands firmly so it doesn't move too much while agonizing in pain of dying. Jesus then strips the lamb off its skin and start chopping it apart. His clothes covered in blood, his knife in his hands, and he tells us, thou shalt not kill.

I simply cannot imagine this scenario without denying it any spirituality or theism.

JC was a vegetarian. You are so right about it.

  • True, this is not a religious song, becuz most religions think of animals as disposable things for humans to use and abuse -- twisting passages in the Bible to prove their "dominion over animals" viewpoint.

What would Jesus do in modern times? He would close all the vivisection labs, slaughterhouses, puppy mills and fur farms! He would angrily throw the scientists and butchers out, as he did in the Temple that day to people selling animals for sacrifices.

I LOVE YOUR SONG! God bless you

  • WOW. What a gorgeous majestic song. Thank you for those 4 minutes of beauty and wisdom!

Just curious -- why do you say JC and not Jesus? And what software did you use to make the video? (I'm a vegan musician too & have songs I'd like to put to video --yours looked perfect)

    THANK YOU, Paul!

  • Thanks for the comments. I used 'JC' in the title so that it didn't sound like a religious song which would put some people off. I say 'Jesus' in the song, though. The video editing was done in Adobe Premiere 6.0. If you want more detail, go to my website, (which has got some other cool stuff on it), send me an email from there which I'll be able to reply directly to.

  • very cool Paul, done a great job.

  • I love this song. only a kind-hearted man could write it. Bless you darlin'

  • Bless you too, Darlin'. Have you visited my website yet? There's more vego stuff there plus samples of other (not just vegetarian) songs on my album.

  • Thank you. I shall visit your website. I can never comprehend how those that say they know Jesus, the Prince of Peace, seem to know Satan a lot more through their actions. mainly, their lack of action in honouring God's creation. How can someone call themself a "Christian" (follower of Christ), but pay ppl to beat up, hit, kick, abuse and then murder God's creations just to gorge on their cooked flesh. oh yeah, that's so Christian-like. They know nothing about God nor His creation, or His heart.

  • Trini, there are people in every faith, every culture and every walk of life who eat animals. Attacking them serves no purpose. Love is more powerful than hatred. Attacking people and projecting hatred is just another form of violence. Peace.

  • Hey Trini, don't be too hard on people with different beliefs. The bottom line is that we are all good to animals and Creation. I, personally don't believe in Satan. He was a remnant of Roman beliefs who got used by the Church to scare people into doing good, with the added bribery of eternal life in Heaven. But goodness is its own reward and (as my song says) kindness is the way to Heaven's light.

    Luv, Paul

  • It's a nice thought but Jesus was not a vegetarian. We can take comfort knowing that the original plan was for us to be vegetarians and when Jesus returns, all of creation will be at peace again- the lion will lay down with the lamb:) In the meantime, we do what we can.

  • Sorry but we don't do "what we can" before Jesus' return. We do what He wants us to do before He returns. How do you know Jesus wasn't vegetarian, but u don't know to follow His ways BEFORE He comes. Big contradiction there luv.

  • We know he wasn't a vegetarian because he ate fish and lamb. We do what we can now by advocating for weaker vessels and changing our lifestyles and of course prayer. That is not a contradiction but what we are commissioned to do. I choose to be a vegetarian but that is not everyone's choice. We can educate, advocate rescue and protect when we can and pray. Blessings to you TriniArabGirl:)

  • Bless you for being vegetarian no matter what your beliefs are. As for Jesus eating lamb and fish.... WRONG!!! Can you imagine a beautiful, gentle man, who who could hold a baby lamb in his arms with love, eating its mutilated corpse? Jesus said to Peter to leave his nets behind and be a 'Fisher of men'. Early Christians ate bread shaped like a fish but not real fish.

  • That was after they made a huge haul of fish. Historical records (scrutinized by scholars) clearly show that they ate fish and meat. We can distort history and lose credibility or we can try to reach people with the current knowledge we have. Factory farming is an abomination, responsible vegetarianism is health promoting. In order to reach people, we have to go where they are in truth. Love and blessings!!!

  • I'm not distorting, I'm reporting. I did a lot of research on this and there are mountains of evidence that he was vego BUT, rather than continue this argument, try and understand my motivation: In the song I say MAYBE JC was a vegetarian. What I'm hoping is that people who still have a little faith left for their spiritual roots will re-think their diet knowing that the greatest religious leaders, Mohamed, Buddha and Jesus were or may have been ethical vegetarians. We both want the same result.

  • II'm going by the Bible as the people we that we may try to reach will be. That is my only point. If we contradict them, we lose them.. Believe me, I am not trying to argue either. Just trying to show the way to reach people. I am in Christian circles and I know saying to them what they know not to be true will not reach them. I love your heart and appreciate your efforts. God bless!!

  • Oh and by the way, I liked your video:) I, too, am in the middle of video/cd outreach project for addicts and drug addicted babies. We do what we can and pray. God bless!!

  • You do sound like a beautiful soul. We have far more similarities than differences. Keep up your good work and I will too. Luv Paul

  • Thanks for backing me up on this argument, Trini. The trouble with some Christians is that their 'blind faith' blinds them to historical truth. They worship the Messenger but have forgotten the message and their only source of information is the Bible which is incomplete and historically inaccurate.

  • No-one can say for sure whether Jesus was vegetarian but NO-ONE can say he wasn't. Historians do know that the Essenes (or Nazarenes) were vegetarian. The Bible calls Jesus the Nazarene. His cousin, John the Baptist was also a Nazarene and a vegetarian. I respect your beliefs but don't let your 'blind faith' blind you to historical truths.

  • Very good.

Would like to post it on our website.

    Is there another format?

  • nice, pretty song.

  • I love this! I'm going to post it in hopes that some of the flesh eaters I know will watch it.

  • Glad you like it. Yep, spread the word and also have a look at my website. There's some other good vego stuff and also more music samples.
