Back when the first and second seasons of yugioh aired, the card game was huge. Everyone at my school had a deck and there were tournaments everywhere, even at toys r us in times square.

@SolidSnakeRules dude, the reason people dont play it is because it was just another trading card game. pokemon was one of the first to hit the west, and they made video game versions, so it was a new thing. yu-gi-oh was new for a while, but wore out quickly with no video game versions. pokemon just managed to anchor a strong fanbase earlier on, and are kinda stretching it a bit. then again, the games are pretty good
