We named our daughter Mollie after the Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine. My Dad was a tour guide there for many years. My brother Jim was hoist-man for the Mollie for many years.
Another dear woman from Victor, Colorado was Nurse Lillian Titmas.
Wow, this is interesting, thanks for posting it. My great-great grandmother was a teacher in a one-room schoolhouse in Victor, Colorado in the late 1800s. She owned some mines as well, in fact, one that I know of is still around in our family, it's around Lake City though.
I need some of the fire and courage these women had to pull up roots, strike out for new beginnings with a brighter future. Fantastic. Thank you for posting.
