I'm a beginning EMT, just started and already love my job as an EMT-Basic. Its awesome that u picked that song fits perfectly with the life of a medic. Thank you for your support xo Tiffany
Im a California EMT and I love it there's no paycheck or amount of cash that can fill the Pride of an EMS Responder knowing we kept another soul a mother a father son or daughter for fading from the world Its not a Job but its a calling and not many people can do what we do but no matter what we are here for you
I love my job as an EMT. I may be young and only a volunteer, but i volunteer enough time that its basically a full time job. I dont get paid for what I do, but I do it anyway. There are many out there that do the same thing. For those that get paid, its one of the lowest paying jobs in the US. Most paid people work at several stations. I love what I do, and Im sure most of the EMTs, Medics, and Firefighters would agree with me! EMS is my life!
I can honstly say the job isnt easy. From expirence You never know what you have comming in. Everyday is a risk. Im 16 and I give my hear and sole into what I do!
My Father is an EMS and he used to take me and my brother to the wrecks so we could see what the real world was like, not what everyone thinks. I agree that you cant claim to know what it is like to be a paramedic until you have walked in the shoes of one. The risk they make to save a complete stranger that may not even remember anything that happened that night, but they never forget the face of the EMT that saved them from death.
It's not a job, it's a calling...and only select few of us have what it takes to earn the title and walk in this calling. Unsung heroes dedicated to a life of selfless service; for crap pay, dangerous surroundings and...the chance to save a life. To my EMS brothers and sisters, keep your heads' up, "stop the bleeding, keep them breathing"
There is definitely nothing at all like what we do.. the days away from our families, missed meals, lack of sleep, sometimes with no thanks at all.. But we love it anyway. Thanks to all my fellow medics out there!
NGVA 1974 to 1977, Ambulance Service Co. 1977 to 1983. DG, '83 to '89. 30,000 + calls. kelly shifts, 10 hour day car, 48 on 48 off. All of it....Had to stop, Alcohol leading to A-flutter. M.I. Atrial Ablation. Pacemaker. In I.T now... Stay Strong Brothers. Guard your Souls. "doc"
Im taking courses through my college to eventually become a paramedic and i failed my state cert the first time around cause of lack of sleep and being nervous but i retest this weekend. My ALS instructor showed us this video last night and it really put things into perspective for me. I can't wait to say that i've finally become a paramedic.
Firemedic30ca, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul. Don't you have a hose to roll somewhere?
@bigbabysurfer Mkay, first off, my comment had 6 words in it. So I don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about. Looks like your low I.Q. and tendency to steal scripts from shitty movies has clashed together in a collaborated effort to make you look like a fucking moron. Second, seeing how Pridemark Paramedic Services from Arvada Colorado is widely known to be full of fucking idiots, I fail to see the "insanely idiotic" portion of my comment. So, to summarize, go fuck yourself.
@bigbabysurfer Oh...seeing how you are clearly too inept to figure out why I said that, there are about 20 pictures in this video of pridemark crews. So one could assume the person who put it together was from pridemark...and that would be why I made that comment. It wasn’t directed at "special" people such as yourself to figure out. But, keep up hope. I’ve heard that with stem cell research they are finding ways to cure retardation. I’m sure one day someone will be able to help you out
This was an extremely well done video... it emcompased so much of what we do... most I have seen just focus on the 'car wrecks' but I saw the chest pains, the SOB, cardiac arrest, the middle finger I have received quite a bit as well lol... EMS... truly nothing like it... thanks for this... HI5!
@floridamedic2 haha or beat someone with a liteer bag of NS. When they open the doors at the Er and you are bashing a guy that punched you and tried to bite you and you are on top of them using the only weapon that you found (bag of saline) nurses look at you strange
@shnitzlefactory: Why Hello motherfucker! We take the jobs normal people wont take because we are not normal, we are are EMT's! You on the other hand, sit on your fat ass hating on tribute videos of the work EMS because your not one of us. I am 15 years old, EMS is the ONLY career i've ever thought about. They risk it all for total strangers, thats way more than what you would do.
@shnitzlefactory It's not a job, it's a profession. Granted that many people in EMS are not "normal", unless you define "normal" as being some desk-jockey or burger-flipper or truck-driver or pencil-pusher that does minimal work for a fat paycheck. EMS is a labor of love, and unless you walked in the worn-out blood-soaked boots of an EMT or Paramedic who does this line of work for peanuts, then my educated advice would be to STFU. We earned our ego, thank you very much :p Sincerely, SC PARAMEDIC
@shnitzlefactory I highly doubt you would be willing to get off of you fat ass in the middle of the night to go help a total stranger while putting yourself on the line. We do the profession because we live what we do, helping total strangers in their time of need, and we seldom get recognition for the shit we do. We have EARNED the egos that we may or may not have. The next time you get all fucked up and flip your vehicle, we will be the ones to save your ass! IA FIRE MEDIC
I just finished three 12hr shifts over Christmas eve, Christmas day and tonight......I had to change uniform 3 times due to being vomited on, and we carried one patient down 9 flights of stairs. I am off for a week to spend time with my family...............and I miss work already ????
How many careers leave you with that sort of feeling.....and how many have such dedicated staff.
Wherever you are keep safe, and stay shiny side up !!!!!
I dropped out of ems after 17 children died in my arms. !0 years later I have returned to what I love. I'm not ready for 911. I don't think I can handle any child death calls. However the transfer service has its medical challenges that I enjoy.
My girlfriend who is in this field showed me this video. When I watched it for the first time it reached in a touched my soul. The pictures that go with this music show how much each and every ems and medic give to help others. I have much respect for everyone that has dedicated and put love into this field. Without people like you this world would only be worse. Thank you for everything you give.
wow. ive been a paramedic for seven years. i was on the streets when hurricane katrina hit. ive seen a lot. lately, ive wanted to quit, but for some reason,i watched this and nearly cried.
My dad is a Paramedic and he nearly cried when he first saw this. He told me there was no song more true and no photos that showed what he did day in and out. Thank you to the creators for this. This is amazing.
i don't know how anyone can do it...i've heard the horror stories from my boyfriend who's an EMT in Colfax Wisconsin...its a small town...but there's nothing small about the job he has to do...i really don't know how he or anyone can do it...but i'm glad you can...and it's sad some people have no respect for the work you all do...i myself am not an EMT or anything close, i'll never understand how you feel...but i know that you all deserve a lot more credit then you're given...
i am in ems and i am studying for my paramedic and when i get mad about studying i watch this video thanks alot it helps me come down and get my head back where it belongs. once agian thanks mr.tiger
As a new EMT, I purely enjoy all of it. My adrenaline starts rushing when I hear my tones over the pager. It takes pure passion and dedication to do this type of job in the field, and I love it. I also work in the Emergency Department of the hospital, which is one of it's own. I just want to let everybody know it takes everybit of dedication and strength to be an EMT. So if you don't respect what we do, then don't call 911 if you're ever in an emergency.
at 3:18, i would hate to speeding then, lol. This video makes me thankful of the men and women out there doing their jobs, jobs that no one else could handle or might not have even wanted. So thank you!!!!!!!!
excellant!! We see the underbelly of the city, total strangers most., but we save'em al! great video, Shout out from Gallup NM Med unit, primary unit.
This is for my medic daughter, soon to be a firefighter too, I hope she sees this. I am so proud of her and all who put their lives on the line everyday. You are heroes.
The only reason I'm not going intot he medical field to become a paramedic,is not b/c of the money,it would be the dedication i'm going to have to deal w/ saving peoples lives.I've had this career picked out when i was little and staying w/ it when i get out of high school.I just witnessed so many people die,and being pissed that i coudl'nt do a damn thing b/c i wasn't experienced to do anything. Now that is my explaination of why i want to go into the medical field and do this career.Adrenaline!
im a student medic, and im not doing it for the adrenaline rush, i haven't even had a adrenaline buz at all and its best that you dont because thats when you are more likely to miss something, and the worse calls there are are the children that there was just nothing you could do to save them ether DOA or been shot and they crash on the way to the lv 1 trauma center and refer to Woody1252's comment also
Only those of us who are in EMS can truely understand the hell we go through to save total strangers. And the sacrifices we make with our minds, bodies and souls.
@woody1252 Or while everyone is having a sound sleep at 3am, we're trying to save a 15 year old who decided drinking and riding a quad was a good idea or helping a family that was involved in a hit and run with a drunk driver. It is hell I agree, and sometimes we don't get recognition for anything. If it wasn't for my bills, I would do this job for free. Stay safe EMS brother!
@lfdlumpy Drunk 15 year old on quad? You must be a medic here in El Paso, sounds like most weekends bro. Btw I won't mention the line you snagged from Farooq, haha. Just messin with ya. Be safe
great vid i have been running sent sept. n im getting my emtb right now i love this rush u get when u get a call and get on the truck to repsond. the best job in the world
Been on the job 30th year now. A new generation of piss & vinegar taking over. That is the way this job is. What these eyes have seen and heard can not be explained to the regular 9 to 5'er. Carry on and stay safe ... My journey is almost done.
@projectsuicide88 good luck man. i'm going into my second month of training. my advice, don't slack off. i have a couple times and it bit me in the ass. keep goin with your studies and have fun in class.
"If its wet, sticky, and didn't come out of your body DON'T PLAY IN IT!"- My EMT instrutor. Hahaha. Get ready, EMS is a trip. Have fun with it and pick up a good hobby to relieve stress. My best words of advice.
man i dont ever hear about it. maybe because EMT's and MFR's dont intubate. Paramedics do. and how about we all just get along lol. we are all on the same team guys
your state is behind the times! In Ohio, basics can do ET tubes. For your national registry to transfer for an Ohio card, you have to take a "refresher course" on advanced airway adjuncts...
Great job the video is very well done. And thank you for serving. You may not be thanked as much but you are very much appreciated. Thank you for serving and hopefully one day I find my exact passion in emergency response. Great job. !
Where was this done? i heard at the start what sounded somethign like from my city... 2240 to 100 that is the fire department where i live in st paul mn
This is an amazing video. The order of the pictures and their timing, along with the lyrics to the song makes this really great! Thanks - EMT in West Memphis, AR

Stay safe EMS brother!
lfdlumpy 9 months ago
@lfdlumpy Drunk 15 year old on quad? You must be a medic here in El Paso, sounds like most weekends bro. Btw I won't mention the line you snagged from Farooq, haha. Just messin with ya. Be safe

Been on the job 30th year now. A new generation of piss & vinegar taking over. That is the way this job is. What these eyes have seen and heard can not be explained to the regular 9 to 5'er. Carry on and stay safe ... My journey is almost done.

"If its wet, sticky, and didn't come out of your body DON'T PLAY IN IT!"- My EMT instrutor. Hahaha. Get ready, EMS is a trip. Have fun with it and pick up a good hobby to relieve stress. My best words of advice.

why would the mother f-ing retard get credit for something?
k0267076 2 years ago
man i dont ever hear about it. maybe because EMT's and MFR's dont intubate. Paramedics do. and how about we all just get along lol. we are all on the same team guys

2 Things EMT's do intubate they just don't do endotracial intubation we do combitube and kings airway. And 2 Paramedics ARE emts
adam022695 2 years ago
@adam022695
your state is behind the times! In Ohio, basics can do ET tubes. For your national registry to transfer for an Ohio card, you have to take a "refresher course" on advanced airway adjuncts...
Marshaze 1 year ago
@adam022695 Apparently you are not aware of the National Standard for EMT's. BTW...I'm a retired paramedic.

not to be offensive, but police anf FF get enough credit. it's the paramedics that always get left out. anybody in EMS will vouch for that.
