On maps where your main isn't protected by small ramps, dropships aren't standard in TvT because vultures get off effective harasses.
Goliath/dropship isn't as effective because it's more easily defended (units out in the field don't have to funnel through a small choke to return), and it's gas heavy (goliath/dropship means less tanks). Dropships are for hard-to-defend, precision strikes whereas on maps like wuthering heights you can just flood your opponents base with vultures.

It's a good idea, but I think people don't do it often in a TvT because goliaths usually come out as soon as dropships are spotted.

why dont people use marine bombs? they always work well for me and they dont even cost gas
