My dad told me a story of raining frogs in the 1930's in Harford county, MD. At the time people thought it was a sign of end times. It was proven to be a small wind cyclone that picked up frogs out of a pond near where they lived.
Clarke makes reference to a collection of books written by Charles Fort. If you've ever read these books, then you would realize that this episode, as well as the angle Clarke takes on this subject, was dirrived from "The Book of The Damned." Fort went to great lengths in verifying and cross referencing material to back up the validity of each claim. They are fascinating reads, especially when one considers the era in which these books were written.
Omg! I've heard and read about this story so many times and just now I realized that the oldest story about it was in the Bible. When in Exodus frogs rained from the sky....and even blood. Kinda proves that was real, doesn't it?
@Licmycat 'blood' rained from the sky recently in the past 10 years or so and some scientific study was put into it and it was discovered to be spores in the clouds that tinted the rain red so what does that prove? that these storys can be explained scientifically
@XTRY4NTX LOL! Right you are. Who could ever deny GOD was a scientist that created us earthling humans? Plus, creating scientists themselves who find the answer to some of GOD'S mysteries? :)
never trust sri lankans, watch their eyes ! like michelle obama, who hates whiteys! she is the worlds most hideously disfigured ape with humungous thighs, and is now first ape in the white house next to her hybrid ape-human husband hussein `lenin is my hero` obama.
They come from the asteroid belt, which is frozen oceans of a once oceanly planet that used to run that orbit. It was known as Tiamat the Dragon Planet, also the second sun, the blue sun, lucifer among other names. TX
This phenomena is not that unusual in tropical places where there is a lot of rain. I had seen it in several occasion when I used to live in Panama. One day we had live crabs and fish rained. Usually, there is strong wind associated with it. I believe the winds pick it up form the ocean and carry them. We got ours and had a meal out of it!
well, I used salvia one time and saw a little more than colors and stuff. I went somewhere else, if your curious about where just ask. Also Ive had precognative dreams my entire life, but i only remember the dream when it really happens, not well enough to alter anything. We saw a black triangle ufo fly over my house once about 12 yrs ago. ive felt a touch several times when i knew i was alone, and wild animals dont fear me as much as most people. no idea why
i got one. on a hot extremely dry day my buddy and me were driving on a dirt road when about a gallon or so of muddy water splashed on my windshield. smelled like river water but there wasnt even a puddle of deer piss around.
Could be- did you hear the engine of one. Have you ever had any other weird experiences like a precoginitive dream, seen lights in the woods, felt a ghost, noticed something went missing only to back up where you had checked ten times before- anything else weird. And thanks for sharing your story. That would have freaked me out. Glad it didn't damage your car and you didn't wreck.
These videos are great - thank you so much for adding them. I loved them as a child (especially the terrifying music). It's great to hear first-hand accounts from people of their weird fish/frog fall experiences.
Clarke actually presented the evidence and known facts and let the viewer decide. And even if some proof was sketchy, Clarke would inform you of such bad information.
I watched this series back in 96 and 97 on The Discovery Channel. Recently, I've picked up the "Mysterious World" DVD, but you'll need a region free player to view it.
The narrator sounds downright serious; add the spooky music...Clarke gave us one hell of a series!
i think because we're too afraid to take anything too seriously. We'd prefer that everything be framed as a joke. Only squares take things seriously these days. Really quite sad
@Mackingster Yes compared to this they seem to be aimed at 12 yearolds. I get really mad and usualy stop watching when they use the word positive energy for a feeling or sth like that. Here you are given the information in a scientific precise manner and if you dont get it its your problem.

i loved these programmes as a boy. itwas an age where you actualy believed there was yetis and sea monsters etc out there. programmes like this were so well done and Clark gave itso much credibiltiy you thought it was all fact. of course decades later most of it was people imaginations. shame really!
It's a shame that you say 'of course decades later most of it was people imaginations', only a fraction of what was said is in people's imaginations. Alot of the facts and speculations that are made in this series hold up as explanations today rather than what modern science can argue. Believe and do not loose faith as all knowledge will one day be revealed. As a civilisation we once had great technology and knowledge hopefully we will redicover this in the years to come. Keep the faith!!!!

With modern technology and updated information, an excellent show like this could be put together again. Do people not care anymore?

@truefaith00 Agreed, I even prefer the filming style as to compared to modern documentary shows you would see now on Discover or History channel.
