@ladyvincenza I know what he did. He had a data plan and did NOT want to pay the additional monthly $5 charge to include "international data roaming". Instead of educating people to aware that Canada is foreign country so you should check with your cell phone carrier about rates when roaming internationally, it's just another evil corporation who must be attacked. BTW, many normal people do "weasel" out of such charges.
Am I correct in saying that the bill was hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars and was grossly unfair? That's what I heard. And if non-celebs do weasel out (or should I say fairly get out) of such things, that's good news to me, not bad news.
@ladyvincenza It's very easy to rack up a $10,000 bill after a week in Canada if you don't have international roaming. I wonder if anyone is ever forced to actually pay that bill the first time they get it. I'm not exactly sure why a carrier would even have such high roaming rates given the complaints and frequency at which people are forgiven for such charges.
In fact, I bet it would serve us all better if Adam complained to the BBB and the state attorney's office.
@yegreskin If AT&T tries to gouge ANYONE with a bill like that. I think one should fight back. Maybe you don't have to be a celebrity, but that sure helps. Perhaps he did go to the BBB for the protection of all of us. At the very least, he published the incident, which warned some people.
As an Orthodox Skeptic and doing stand up I found it hysterical. Oh yeah... Gex-Xer too. My laughing at this is more than 'Stand-upping to the Choir' :) And good to find another Marc Kirschenbaum fan.
I was googling "Sarah Trachtenberg" and found this video. My 9 year old daughter is another Sarah Trachtenberg. How totally random.

Adam Savage was wrong and abused his celebrity status to get out of his own mistake.

@yegreskin I dunno-- based on what I heard, AT&T tried to gouge him. Not everyone could have weaseled out of it, but I think AT&T was in the wrong.
