I did 27 years in the Army. My last tour was Desert Storm. I came back and hung up my jump boots. I fought along side many different latino cultures and to tell you the truth we were proud of each other and pushed each other to succeed. I am in a PaCom unit but except for a brief anti Abu Sayyaf deployemtn did all my stuff in Iraq. But I am fluent in portuguese which means the only place in the pacific I would use my language skills would have been East Timor. Did you hear any potuguese there at all? Any brazilians? I heard Brazil had a treaty with them.

It was a brief deployment to East Timor for me only 3 months. They were still having some conflicts when I was there. I did not really have any contacts with civilians mostly the military thats working with us. I was an Army Engineer at this time because I switch from Infantry. We were building roads and schools. The Abu Sayyaf your talking about are mainly concentrated in the Asian Pacific countries such us Philippines & other neighboring countries. They are extreme fanatics watch your back!!
