Does plowing have any effect, or is it the same as cultivating? Does applying manure over spray make any difference in yield? What crop is the most profitable to grow?
@giuchin In real life, you would fertilize, then plow, plant, apply insecticide with the sprayer when the crops begin growing, and harvest. The game doesn't recognize it in that order though. In the game, you plow/cultivate, fertilize using spray or manure, then plant. It's all backwards.
@giuchin Not a problem. I'm still trying to figure out which crop has the best price for the yield per hectare. Canola usually sells the most per ton of grain, but I don't know if the yield per hectare is less than other crops that are cheaper per ton. I like investing in cows. They're kind of like your pot of gold at the end of the day.
@Firepower357 I only have three cows and It doesn't seem like they give me a gain of money at the end of the day. It's hard work and time consuming keeping them healthy though. I usually go with canola to the mill and barley to the mill. That's what gives me the largest amount of cash by the weeks end.
@giuchin Put Canola in the mill, and Barley in the brewery, you'll get paid more. Cows are very profitable, you just have to have enough of them. If you turn your entire operation over to dairy, you actually will make way more than just crops. But you will be working more steadily for sure. I wish the hired help was a little bit more intelligent and able to harvest and plow in straight lines, but it is what it is. I wanna try Agricultural Simulator 2011... Much better graphics.
@giuchin What I mean by turning your entire operation over to dairy is buying enough cows where they make you enough money to sustain your entire farm. Granted you will be working nonstop planting and chopping corn and mowing grass, but it might be worth the investment. Do what you wish, personally I've owned this game for a couple years so I'm kind of bored of it. Now I play Agricultural Simulator 2011 which has much better graphics and a much more in depth management system.
@Firepower357 That makes sense. I just got this game a few weeks ago. That is a good idea for the cows though. Is Agricultural Simulator 2011 any better? Besides graphics and management?
@giuchin Agro Sim 2011 is better in some ways, worse in others. The pros are that you have to operate the vehicles from only one of two views, have limited resources to start with, have to choose wisely on your purchases and when you purchase them, accurate pricing on land and equipment, and excellent graphics. Cons; difficult to control vehicles, unless you have a snappy computer it will run slow, and a fairly small map.
@iconsthief yes, it is realyy stupid thing done with this game, i had manure just 900 and my buckeck capacity was 3000 so it coundn't take manure unlless there is 3k manure in ur pit :P
sorry to sound dumb but why is it when I drive upto the slurry pit and press B nothing happens so what are the correct buttons as eaither your doing something different or farming simulator has a terrible bug.
