Great idea... if you have the trash laying around (tarp, foam, string, etc.) However, if you bought all of this shit, the cost would be in the ballpark of a real surface. Why not just take a bunch of old clothes or mattresses and throw them on the floor like when you were 7 years old?
Wow, I truly thought my mat was ghetto, but this one surpassed it. Definitely a good way to have the closest thing to an MMA mat if you do not have a lot of funds. Great way for people to get started in the sport and practice in their yard; one can do a ton of stuff with this, and eventually, you can build something nicer when the funds come in. There is a video of a couple of guys who used this tarp thing in their garage stretching it and securing it with wood. That could be something to add
@ausgepicht Hey wait, I just watched the video. Hey Joe! It's me Joe from MMA.tv. LOL! Small world. Send me the address of that foam warehouse in Somerville please!
Anybody know where to buy the upholstery? Is there a well known franchise or do I have to just search through every listing that come up when I google upholstery factory? Also is the rubber foam just a generic material that can be cut to any size or should I be looking for something with a specific name and size. Thanks~>
Ha! You're definitely from Massachusetts or maybe even Rhode Island. What gave it away, you ask? Oooh, one of the original shirt designs from WAAF, the Patriots hat and the THICK Boston/Providence accent. I'm not raggin bud, I'm from Massachusetts and I often forget to realize how we sound... it cracks me up. I don't usually see or hear fellow New Englanders on youtube, kudos. Great video, with a great idea. Keep it up. Cheers

The MMA industry is taking advantage of the average person, beating us up price wise in every aspect from instruction to equipment.
Rebel, become Self Reliant and do it all yourself.

If you do yoga, it's a yoga mat. If you do BJJ, it's a BJJ mat. If you have a really big door, it's a door mat...OK?
