  • I was wondering, how did you manage to remove the shellac without damaging the original polish?

  • @animesis Using denatured alcohol, wiping just a little at a time, never allowing the solvent to sit and delve too deeply.

  • I am curious as to how much you are selling it for.

I am an organist, and a pipe organ is not an option in my home! I have a one-manual reed organ with three ranks and 14 stops which I am in the process of restoring. In the future I know I would like to own a larger one with more ranks, two manuals, and a pedal board.

  • could you possibly do a video with a three manual / pedal reed organ?

  • @jccaudell82 Hi, I have about an hour of footage of the 3MP M&H at the Fayette Opera House being played, and I intend to share some of it. Anybody care to hear the William Tell overture arranged for reed organ?

  • @MasonHamlinOrgans I would love to hear the William Tell overture arrange for reed organ.

  • @jccaudell82 Please see the 'Fantasie pour Guillaume Tell' video, it's the 3MP mason & Hamlin in Fayette Ohio.

  • Sorry but they did not have polyurethane in 1898

  • @donovad2007

    what polyurethane where?

  • @MasonHamlinOrgans

I think he means the finish you used on the wood- it's attractive but does not look like a period finish should.

  • @albanybeardguy I find that interesting, because that _is_ the original finish; it has simply had 110 years of filth, one previous-owner applied layer of dark finish removed, and some pieces repolished with shellac as from the factory. In fact it is as close in appearance to new as possible in something so old.

  • @MasonHamlinOrgans

That's interesting- it might look different in person, Youtube is not the best place for accuracy

  • This instrument still has the foot-operated bellows pedal, for single-leg workout. It was all that survived of the original mechanical wind system, so I re-leathered it. It's like pedaling a melodeon.

  • @MasonHamlinOrgans - Thanks! Sorry for the multiple posts of this message. The new youtube lay-out doesn't always seem to work well. My organ is exactly like that one except for the music rack and the pipe facade. Actually I've never seen a book that shows what the old bellows system should look like. Oh well. Best Wishes! :)

  • I re-mastered the audio, and deleted the commentary on the Bach, and it sounds way better; it's right up there/\ on my channel page, see?

  • Amanzing and interesting...

  • Very interesting and well done. The sound from it is amazing. Thanks for posting this.

  • FANTASTIC!!!! *****
