Apperently, her mother's name is Rosa, a witch that just happened to be conned by Balder. The only reason Cereza confuses Bayonetta for her mother is because Bayonetta looks shockingly like her own mother (to which we say: scary!)

I'm on the fucking prolouge and have died TWENTY PLUS TIMES. I can't get past it. It's sooo fucking hard. They want you to do something in "5 minutes" (watch the time tick down, it's nowhere near real time, probably 50% faster than actual seconds) that is damn near impossible. The first 2 are easy, but the 3rd one keeps interrupting, and the only thing I can do is use my gun from afar or do the jump kick thing, neither of which do much damage. Dodging also gets me nowhere time wise.

Also, is this game just button mashing and that's it? This seems like a 100% arcade fighting game after playing it for an hour. Maybe there is more depth to it, but it seems like super fast arcade fighting, wish not much else to it.
