listen lil boy. you obviously have nothin better to do and your proving to me how immature you are. you dont like school or learning and i'm the idiot? and you try to educate me on rap. lol. you still catching up on hip-hop while i lived through all fazes. i don't have time for this sh#t
@drieey lil boy? since when isnt 26 grown? i'm done with school and i gaurantee i have a better job than you. you act like i just heard this shit. i heard it when it came out and i knew it was about big when i was 11. its sad that somehow you are older than 26 and still dont know what this song was about. you wont even reply to my comment, you just put a comment up. you dont want me to reply because i make you look stupid. everyone knows this is about big but i was just throwin in pac too
@drieey yeah i was 11 when this came out... so? its been out for 15 years since then and you didnt explain anything. ohh wow he mentioned puff so thats all you got? hip hop is a metaphor for somebody and thats obvious. now whoever that is would most likely be nameless or it would defeat the purpose of a metaphor. he said puff was getting him drunk and fucking his mind up, well there, clear as day proves you wrong. its a metaphor fool and try explain something next time so you dont look like one
Puff is just a fool who got rich off the death of Notorious (who is awesome, no disrespect to BIG), and now does weak sauce tracks that would be better bumped in the clubs then on the street, where crackers unlike me and mislead fools say it is "Dirty", and go put it on their iPhones and walk around.
While Puff is getting cheques like the post-Nirvana Courtney Love, if you know what I mean.
I am a cracker but I am very much into Jeru, Guru, and 90s hip hop and some of the current shit.
sounds like he's talking about big and pac here. puff had hip hop hostage.... and shug came and took him from puff. then a real nigga had to retreive him where he's saying he went to LA and got it back. so it sounds like big and pac were fucking rap up in his opinion... thats what i took from this song
@drieey he's definitely talking about big... big was beefing with him over this song. idk who else he'd be talking about in LA with shug. if you dont think this is about big for sure than you're an idiot. please explain what you think this song is about then? versace suit on.... clearly big. hey have you ever heard of "kick in the door"
The first time I heard this classic was at one of the famous LA Unity joints. From the first beats everyone hit the floor, the the lyrics hit you full force. I remember everyonein the cypha showin out with amazing moves and some of us just groovin, and at the end of everyone of his phrases we had to throw lighters up and acknowledge the sad truth of his rhymes.
I loved this song when it came out, but, in retrospect... after growin' up and all that shit... Jeru has his own damn faults... He said how "Puff got 'em drunk and fucked his mind up (talkin' bout hip-hop)"... Yet, Jeru gets high and shit doin' whatever whatever... Believe me, I'm still underground hip-hop or whatever that's supposed to mean, but, I like new shit too... In the long run, If you're the fuckin' shit, it don't matter, just do you... Just love hip-hop... We're all hypocrites!!!!!!!!
dang,we're still waitin for this day,one of my fave cuts of all time for sure...this also had a dope mix in dj ev and stretch armstrong's back to back mixtape, coming from west coast killa(group therapy) and going into M.O.P.'s stick to ya gunz...dope...this is a classic, not all that thrash glorifying rap...peace jeru and primo,guru,Anonimo,R.I.P
this song is ill! very funny stumbling flow and lyrics. but comon, the truth is there in the lyrics. if you sick about some fake emcees or whatever, give your dj buddy a call and start making some real shit! only thing to do, spamming about lil wayne on youtube (even though its pretty impressive how many lil wayne haters there are) wont do shit
I am so sick and goddamned tired of these mainstream artists like T-Pain and Kanye West (Gay Fish) with their auto-tune and shitty lyrics that don't even rhyme or make sense anymore. Hey if Wrath Of The Math is $24 it's better than fuckin' lil' Wayne.

Hip Hop died long ago, there is no more hip hop is shit crap... Hip Hop was alive when cats like Jeru, Wu-Tang, Redman, Nas, Boot Camp CLick, Common Sense, SLick RIck, Mobb Deep...
first off...big is over-rated...ok he comes out like mid-93' and die early 97 and all of a sudden he's the greatest rapper of all time? no way and im from ny sayin this so aint like im biased or anything...great rapper he may have been(he was aiight) neva been mentioned as an mc tho...hmmmm
niggas was callin b.i.g the greatest while he was alive.jus cause the nigga had 2 albums means nothin,he a'int get that opportunity to even see the release of a 2nd album.and far as b.i.g not bein a mc and overrated then how come b.i.g was a legend b4 he died?and how come b.i.g is the most bitted rapper in hip-hop history?
@unbornak47 first off, Jeru wasn't even going at BIG here, he was going at Puff and Bad Boy in general. it just so happens that BIG was the backbone of Bad Boy, but Puff had him by the nuts. he was a hardcore emcee and Puff had him doing that soft shit. second, Jeru has 4 albums, 2 of which he has released since parting was with Premo. he's still around, you just don't see him on TV anymore because the record industry is on some bullshit. btw, hip hop purists actually were dissing BIG back then.
they was riding big's dick off that east/west bullshit...i hear rappers callin him the greatest strictly 4 props which is butt cheeks real talk..cmon everybody takes somethin from everybody nowadays it seems...only dude i know stay in big's note pad was and still is jay-z ..and who bitin big now?i'd have to say if anything rappers was bitin tupac more than big by far ...he had silent beefs wit nas & raekwon and both of them are better then big even back then...he aint no legend
every1 bites b.i.g.where u been at?cause if u a'int know b.i.g is the most bitted rapper in hip-hop.and far as raekwon bein better than b.i.g and nas, that's ur opinion, but if they so much better then why was they jealous of b.i.g?and b.i.g not bein a legend ,b.i.g been a legend since 1995 for shiftin focus back on east-coast hip-hop,something nas or rae didn't do,and still haven't done, and pac didn't become a legend til he died, not b.i.g.
cmon man from like late 92-96 we had a whole bunch of new good artist..why would they be jealous of big he just another rapper..u was like 7 or 8 when all that popped off i was damn near 20 so i know u have no idea of what u speak i was there and i know they wasnt hatin on big they had they own ..nas with illmatic... raekwon with wutang and his own shit out are u serious?? as for the east west thing alot of cats i know aint even care about that beef.cali got they shine on and it was fire music
you don't even know what they beef was about it was more than east/west so ima school ya..man biggest downfall is a woman straight up and thats where it really started with faith evans sexy ass and tupac gettin shot in nyc...puff n suge just made it a way to make money and its real suspicious how when they was about to squash it that they both get murdered ...but neva tell me big is better he a punchline rapper and they a dime a dozen my dude
if u think b.i.g was gonna squash the beef wit pac after all that shit pac said bout b.i.g in hit em up,then u a fool.cause in hit em up ,pac was dissin b.i.g's family, and b4 pac passed b.i.g and nas was supposed to get 2gether and diss pac and the outlawz, and, long kiss goodnight was a original diss record,b4 pac died, but due to pac's passin it never got released.and if any1 tried to make money of the east/west beef,it was pac and suge, them 2 niggas single-handedly promoted the beef.
no1 never said west-coast artists was jealous of b.i.g,i said nas, rae, pac, and suge was jealous of b.i.g.and that's a fact u can listen to pac's interviews on b.i.g and hear jealousy in the nigga's voice, nas and rae admitted to bein jealous of b.i.g.and like i said if b.i.g is only a punchline rapper then why so many niggas done stole his lyrics??even pac,pac wasn't lyrical.
i never said west coast artist we jealous of big either..u said rae and nas were jealous.aint no grown man who's doin they own thing gonna come out and say yeah im jealous of him that dont even sound right.and why would pac be jealous of big..u just a big fan thats all u dont wanna hear nothin against him i can dig it but ur facts are messed up..u forgot they use to be boys...yeah they made diss records at each other that aint no secret..big was crushed when pac died cuz that was his boy
@unbornak47 i think the most important thing in this argument, and the factor that is being ignored by both of you guys, is "who gives a shit?" i think we can all agree that BIG was at least decent. now stfu and listen to the song and talk about how Bad Boy, lead by Puff, not BIG, ruined mainstream hip hop in the late 90's :)
nigga mind ya business we aint talkin bout who ruined hip hop and how u sound"puff ruined mainstream hip hop"? once it went mainstream it was ruined!!!shit was ruined when they started lettin just anybody come in and do they thing on these record labels..master p had a big hand in that shit cuz he went over they head and did his own thing with garbage ass music
@ERIC122475 hey dipshit, i know what you are talking about. the problem is that if it wasn't for me, you wouldn't be on here arguing about this stupid shit because i uploaded this video in the first place. if you want to argue irrelevant bs with your boyfriend here, do it through PM. you are plaguing my video with random nonsense. gtfoh and do this on someone else's video.
no u dont or else u wouldnt have used the term "mainstream"all the other nonsense i wont address ...my point is mind ya own business i know who ur comment was aimed at..and u aint the only one that upload this video..get a grip ya cartoon thug
@unbornak47 Only "gangstar" rappers bite big. Hip-Hoppers have nothing to do what that nonsence. Rap is mainstream, thats why punks like big and pac are famous. Hip-hop is not, hence your misunderstanding. Big may have been quite the lyricist, but rap is shit, and you can't shine shit.
w/e you say!sure gangta rappers only bite b.i.g' rhymes, but that's why r&b artists, pop stars, rock stars have bitten b.i.g's rhymes by either sampling his lyrics,or reciting hi lyrics, michael jackson even sampled b.i.g's rhymes.Bottom Line,b.i.g's the mot bitted rapper in the history of hip-hop w/ less work.
@unbornak47 wtf? I am talkin about hip hoppers and you are talkin about Mike jackson and whittny houston? Samples are taken from everywhere, back to the days before rap and I would easily counter with the fact that Bob James is far more "bitted" from. Look it up, you philistine !
read the comment correct you idiot.i said that b.i.g is the Most Bitted Rapper.not r&b singer, not the most bitted pop star, not the most bitted rock star,The Most Bitted Rapper.i said that rock stars, pop stars,r&b artists have all bitten b.i.g's rhymes, making him the mot bitted rapper in the history of hip-hop w/ less work than most rappers.i brought up michael jackson as an example because he even sampled b.i.g's rhymes/lyrics.so before going off topic next time, read the comment right.
@unbornak47 I can name name several hip hoppers and rappers that are not only more "bitted" from than big but have also been "bitted" on -by- big. Chuck D. Flava Flav, KRS 1, Slick Rick...
Infact I bet half the stuff you think other rappers are "bitted" from big is actually stuff big has "bitted" from real old school hip hoppers.
not straight at BIG but the bad boy label in general. BIggie took some jabs back at em in "kick down the door" also came at nas a little in that track.. it woulda been a all out battle if BIG didnt die
oh, i see what you're saying. i guarantee though that if you talk to Jeru about it he'll tell you that he was mainly coming at Puffy and his cronies and not at BIG. and yeah i know about "Kick In The Door". Bad Boy is wack because of Puffy and only got fame because Biggie signed to them. everyone knows that.
for sure puff is hella wack but naw in the making of Life After Death it said this line was at Jeru and Premo "Son, Im surprised you run with them/I think they got cum in them, cause they nothin but dicks" talkin shit that premo would even produce that track
Now a days they screw up Hip Hop and make it seem flashy, and they make it seem as if its all about the looks. Fuckk that! I may be a girl who doesn't fully understand hip hop yet, but im getting there. Eventually(: <3
shiarocksmysocks - Sounds like you're on the right path to me - nuff love B-Girl and welcome to the family! Hip Hop particularly needs strong females out there these days. You go for yours! x
kick in the door was to nas and raekwon etc coz of their song Verbal Intercourse, the message and Shark biters skit. Raekwon felt biggie was stealing their style. "you told your boo you was whylin, once you heard wu out of the blue your families from shaolin"
Jeru is the man! Havent heard this album in awhile gotta pull out my cd now. Real ill lyrics, if you guys like his shit check out this guy named T.W.I.L.I.G.H.T .too. type in twilight inside or twilight end of days those are some real lyrical songs. Plus theres a download link where you can get his album for free when you go to it.
This song is ILL..and so true..He called it..Look at Hip-Hop now, it's a shame...It's the people though..people continue to buy Lil Wayne and Soulja Boy...TRASH!!
i gotta agree wit 444, sun rises is a little better just based on the fact that it was new and fucked peoples heads up when it dropped..wrath is a incredible follow-up. which is really hard to do.
He really pointed out the wackness and rappers know they can never come back at Jeru cause he was just telling the truth and they know hes much smarter.
Yep, I guess since real emcees with talent are a rare species. Now and days you either get one or the other so I guess Premo is going to keep it real...
definitely agree. i actually feel like the story here overshadows the beat which is rare for a Premo produced track. i think Jeru is one of the few that can do that. Premo tends to work with emcees that are real but not that talented.
maybe he just didnt want beef with L.A rappers, lol this jeru This brotha doesnt care about beef if he has to make a point dont what happend in l.a. he didnt go into details wish if they had an extended version of this!
What do you learn in school, hm? You learn general things that bring you nowhere near becoming a genius. What has health care and so on to do with intellect? You're born with it or not. You can't learn being intelligent. I don't get your logic.
If you say the ghetto doesn't produce much intellect you're seriously mistaken and shouldn't have skipped history class in school. I won't go ahead and teach you things that you should know in your age, though.
Offcourse you dont become a genious from school automaticly, but you automaticly dont become a genious if you dont go to school(school means learning).
Intellect is something a human learn, you ever heard about an intellectual baby? Intellect is something you build, and you build it with knowledge/information. Intellect and intelligence is not the same thing.
So, when healthcare, schools, society in general, ect - holds low quality, so does the intellect from that same society.

nigga mind ya business we aint talkin bout who ruined hip hop and how u sound"puff ruined mainstream hip hop"? once it went mainstream it was ruined!!!shit was ruined when they started lettin just anybody come in and do they thing on these record labels..master p had a big hand in that shit cuz he went over they head and did his own thing with garbage ass music
ERIC122475 1 year ago 17
@ERIC122475 hey dipshit, i know what you are talking about. the problem is that if it wasn't for me, you wouldn't be on here arguing about this stupid shit because i uploaded this video in the first place. if you want to argue irrelevant bs with your boyfriend here, do it through PM. you are plaguing my video with random nonsense. gtfoh and do this on someone else's video.
eboyd32 1 year ago
no u dont or else u wouldnt have used the term "mainstream"all the other nonsense i wont address ...my point is mind ya own business i know who ur comment was aimed at..and u aint the only one that upload this video..get a grip ya cartoon thug
ERIC122475 1 year ago
fam,keep u lil insults to urself,cause wasn't no1 talkin to u to begin with.
unbornak47 1 year ago
@unbornak47 Only "gangstar" rappers bite big. Hip-Hoppers have nothing to do what that nonsence. Rap is mainstream, thats why punks like big and pac are famous. Hip-hop is not, hence your misunderstanding. Big may have been quite the lyricist, but rap is shit, and you can't shine shit.
DrewDubious 1 year ago
w/e you say!sure gangta rappers only bite b.i.g' rhymes, but that's why r&b artists, pop stars, rock stars have bitten b.i.g's rhymes by either sampling his lyrics,or reciting hi lyrics, michael jackson even sampled b.i.g's rhymes.Bottom Line,b.i.g's the mot bitted rapper in the history of hip-hop w/ less work.
unbornak47 1 year ago
@unbornak47 wtf? I am talkin about hip hoppers and you are talkin about Mike jackson and whittny houston? Samples are taken from everywhere, back to the days before rap and I would easily counter with the fact that Bob James is far more "bitted" from. Look it up, you philistine !
DrewDubious 1 year ago
read the comment correct you idiot.i said that b.i.g is the Most Bitted Rapper.not r&b singer, not the most bitted pop star, not the most bitted rock star,The Most Bitted Rapper.i said that rock stars, pop stars,r&b artists have all bitten b.i.g's rhymes, making him the mot bitted rapper in the history of hip-hop w/ less work than most rappers.i brought up michael jackson as an example because he even sampled b.i.g's rhymes/lyrics.so before going off topic next time, read the comment right.
unbornak47 1 year ago
@unbornak47 I can name name several hip hoppers and rappers that are not only more "bitted" from than big but have also been "bitted" on -by- big. Chuck D. Flava Flav, KRS 1, Slick Rick...
Infact I bet half the stuff you think other rappers are "bitted" from big is actually stuff big has "bitted" from real old school hip hoppers.

some of this song is toward BIG
Zmw192 2 years ago
how so?
eboyd32 2 years ago
not straight at BIG but the bad boy label in general. BIggie took some jabs back at em in "kick down the door" also came at nas a little in that track.. it woulda been a all out battle if BIG didnt die
Zmw192 2 years ago
oh, i see what you're saying. i guarantee though that if you talk to Jeru about it he'll tell you that he was mainly coming at Puffy and his cronies and not at BIG. and yeah i know about "Kick In The Door". Bad Boy is wack because of Puffy and only got fame because Biggie signed to them. everyone knows that.
eboyd32 2 years ago
for sure puff is hella wack but naw in the making of Life After Death it said this line was at Jeru and Premo "Son, Im surprised you run with them/I think they got cum in them, cause they nothin but dicks" talkin shit that premo would even produce that track
Zmw192 2 years ago
kisk in the door was aimed at Nas supposedly

We should unite and take hip hop back from those fake ass sellouts and stupid pre-teens dreaming of being big mr. gangsters!
I love Jeru, as much as I love the west, Jeru's disses are still likable. He could have wiped the floor with Biggie.
fleshnbone187 2 years ago 5
Fuckkk this is sooo true.
Now a days they screw up Hip Hop and make it seem flashy, and they make it seem as if its all about the looks. Fuckk that! I may be a girl who doesn't fully understand hip hop yet, but im getting there. Eventually(: <3

That Mad Rapper skit right after "Hypnotize" was pretty much a direct response to this track
neqquah 2 years ago
i thought the mad rapper was just a hater who summed up what biggie thought of rae n all the other rappers dissin him at the time
Terrra91 2 years ago
kick in the door was to nas and raekwon etc coz of their song Verbal Intercourse, the message and Shark biters skit. Raekwon felt biggie was stealing their style. "you told your boo you was whylin, once you heard wu out of the blue your families from shaolin"

this track should be hip hops anthem!!!
i like the fact there is no chorus, there is no breaks, there is no hook....
just the flow and he ends it with....One Day!!!
sick ass track...this album was better than the first one, although the first one still has some sick tracks...
my favorite track on this album is
ya playin ya self!
MEXIKAYOTL2012 3 years ago 2
Sun rises is stronger, clearly.
Muzik444 3 years ago
you really think so,...
dont get me wrong that album was bananas!!!
but i think wrath of the math was a bit better.....
regardless jeru is the prophet!
MEXIKAYOTL2012 3 years ago
i just feel its a tiny bit stronger. I have both albums on vinyl though and love em both!
Some of my friends prefer Wrath of the Math though. I thought i preferred it when i first heard it but after a long time i realised ha.
Anyways, im going to see Jeru later tonight in Exeter (UK)
Muzik444 3 years ago
either or...
jeru the damaja is insane with this lyrics.
wow, he is touring in UK?
I saw him down in the US in California!!!!
peace!
MEXIKAYOTL2012 3 years ago
i gotta agree wit 444, sun rises is a little better just based on the fact that it was new and fucked peoples heads up when it dropped..wrath is a incredible follow-up. which is really hard to do.
tonywonderful 3 years ago
Jeru is a straight rebel.
He really pointed out the wackness and rappers know they can never come back at Jeru cause he was just telling the truth and they know hes much smarter.
Puff must have hated this song real bad.
Imagine Lil Wayne going against The Prophet.
It would be hilarious

In my opinion, Wrath Of The Math was better than his first joint. Both are classics though.

yeah I agree, both classic, but for the this one was better balanced. Bigger smashers on the first tho. I love Me or the papes.

how the hell does primo do it? what an incredible beat

Yep, I guess since real emcees with talent are a rare species. Now and days you either get one or the other so I guess Premo is going to keep it real...
WOODPUSHA86 3 years ago
its not just the beat thats unbelievable...
theodorvon 3 years ago
definitely agree. i actually feel like the story here overshadows the beat which is rare for a Premo produced track. i think Jeru is one of the few that can do that. Premo tends to work with emcees that are real but not that talented.
eboyd32 3 years ago
Na that aint true. Most rappers Primo makes beats for are good rappers.
SlaytanicWarrior420 3 years ago
that beat is fucking unbelievable!!! how did primo make that????
jabron1973 3 years ago 2
because he's Premo. lol!
eboyd32 3 years ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
what the fuck p diddy's got to do in the vid?
Impression08 3 years ago
the fact that P Diddy was the main reason behind how fucked up hip hop is today.
eboyd32 3 years ago
could'nt agree more!
Troj27 3 years ago 2
Man thats what I say. When ppl say hip hop is dead all because of Soulja Boy I tell em P. Diddy started the cancer, and Soulja Boy pulled the plug.
SlaytanicWarrior420 3 years ago 4
"Parental Advisory"? That says it all about the bizz... Jeru is the only one talking straight...
suneku78 3 years ago
it starts off good and the beat is pretty sick, but i feel like this story got cut short. I feel like it didn't go deep enough.
luisvsanchez 3 years ago
yeah, i feel you. it still touched on some major points though.

genius
auktour07 3 years ago
What do you learn in school, hm? You learn general things that bring you nowhere near becoming a genius. What has health care and so on to do with intellect? You're born with it or not. You can't learn being intelligent. I don't get your logic.
If you say the ghetto doesn't produce much intellect you're seriously mistaken and shouldn't have skipped history class in school. I won't go ahead and teach you things that you should know in your age, though.
AlexZ1984 3 years ago
Offcourse you dont become a genious from school automaticly, but you automaticly dont become a genious if you dont go to school(school means learning).
Intellect is something a human learn, you ever heard about an intellectual baby? Intellect is something you build, and you build it with knowledge/information. Intellect and intelligence is not the same thing.
So, when healthcare, schools, society in general, ect - holds low quality, so does the intellect from that same society.
