I've got everything installed plus the internet connectivity, but how can I get NVidia Linux Drivers and what kind should I get for VMware so I can use all the effects? I have a NVIDIA GeForce 8500GT 1 GB RAM Edition.
My other question is onjce I have installed third party software from the internet, how can I run it?
Virtualization software emulates a standard video card so you won't be able to run any of the effects in a virtual machine.
How you install and run third party software depends on how they packaged it. There should be instrutions from the vendor. The easiest way is through Applications - Add/Remove Applications. If it is available through the package manager, then you just select the app and it will install for you.
My RAM recommendations are 1gb for xp and mac/fusion; 2gb for vista. vmware supports ISO files for system installation. How much RAM you give ubuntu depends on what you are doing. 512 for a demo/checkout should be sufficient. But, if it doesnt work, add more. If you are currently using virtualbox, then I'm not sure what you would get from switching, other than the experience of looking at something new.
Most of my computers have 2gb, but you can probably get by with 1gb on your host system. 512mb is good for the virtual machine depending on what you want to do with it.
what version is that? i dont want a vmware on the web. i just want it as a normal app. i think its version 1 right?

You can either navigate to it in Places and execute it, your you can create a desktop shortcut (right click on the desktop and create a launcher)

Hello!
Umm here is the typical questions list :P.
What processor you have?
How much RAM does your machine have?.
How much RAM you put it to Ubuntu?.
Is from a Vmware image or an ISO image, or simply emulating the CD/DVD drive?
PD: Excuse me for my english, and also for the last question does Vmware allows CD/DVD and .ISO emulation, im currently use Virtual Box?
