it sounded like a good idea at first, but that would actually ruin it; the whole comedic bit regarding Klaus, is how "ignored" he is. The fact that he gets rare bits, makes him even funnier. I mean, it is those unexpected moments, which make the character so funny. Think about it; in your average American Family, NO ONE gives a shit about the goldfish. The joke here being, they STILL wouldn't give a shit even if said goldfish could talk.
