  • i love it no matter what you do to a 300 it still sounds like a 300

  • nice truck..but you need to get rid of that oil cap and put a breather type cap on it

  • What kind of mpg are you getting currently?

  • beatiful... would it work on my 82 f150 ???

  • Dam i did the swap to my truck but it would idle at all just kept dieing, any suggestions?

  • @dirteeter32 check the fuel filters,my 87 f150s tanks were rusted to hell and the in tank filters were clogged almost completely.drop the tanks and check them,i ended up putting newer ones under it.

  • @FlamingTightyWhiteis

Well they had to have been fine cuase i swap back in my old manifolds and it ran fine weird. But i just purchased a 4 barrel intake and holly carb same offy intake as you got so when i install it i'll see what happens.

  • @dirteeter32 oh,i had the EFI 4.9,ran amazingly, but it was starved for fuel.hope everything works out with it,i honestly would rather to have the carburetted 4.9,it was a northern truck in the south,so it was set to a higher climate and ran a little more rich,or lean,i dont honestly know, and i never could change it.i ended up selling mine though,i have my old buick to travel in :)

  • same manifolkd setup as i have except, i went with the dual plane instead of the "C" and i ran dual exhaust. definatly brings them alive.

  • That looks and sounds great!..best sounding 300 I've ever heard..can't wait to do the intake and efi manifolds on my bronco...soon..very soon!

  • how hard was it to put the efi exhaust manifolds on i've got an 81 f250 4x4 and i would like to throw my 94 efi manifolds onto my f250.

  • @dirteeter32 Its just a bolt in job for the manifolds. And get the Y pipe also. It makes the job easier.

  • @dirteeter32 yeah thats what i figured. did your old manifold have that heat exchanger thing that bolted under the carb?

  • how did u get your intake manifold out? i took out the 6 or so bolts on top but it just wont come out , n i cant find anymore. help please.

  • @insanexskillz Their are bolts under the manifolds Intake and exhaust to hold them both to the head.

  • @insanexskillz Their are bolts under the manifolds Intake and exhaust to hold them both to the head.

  • I have a 81 ford f250 with a 300 6cylinder with a dump on it and i pull a 4500 pound bandit chipper all the time.

  • What kind of gas mileage are you getting? Do you know what the 0-60 is? Thanks

  • where did you get that intake setup from? What kind of cam did u use?

  • Did you notice any change in mileage? What's the power band rated at? 500-4500 rpm?

  • Put an X pipe on the exhaust pipes to even out the pulses, and get some extra scavenging between the manifolds. Good for torque, and horsepower!

  • @saludahead Its a single exhaust with a y pipe. An x pipe isnt nessesary.

  • where do i get performance parts for mine? carb intake etc?

  • Nice looking truck...I also have one, I just put in a new engine and I was wondering...how do I install the front pully on the crankshaft? It's like hard to get it on you know...

  • @AndrewIanMurphy

Explain more, i just put a 300 in my truck fine, mabey i can help.

  • What kind of paint is on the intake ?

  • @bigdumidiot NONE its bare aluminium

  • What size carb?

  • my dad has same set up on his 81 f150 Ranger. he doesnt have the cam tho. truck can smoke the tires like nothing now. nice 250

  • he has the hooker headers full exhaust system with a offinhauser dual prot intake with the 4 barrel holley 390 carburator its pretty sick tho

  • This is pretty much exactly how I want my 300 to sound. Not too loud, but not too quiet either.

  • hey if i put a cam in my 4.9l 94. will it mess up the coputer. also is that stock exhaust and how much was the cam

  • Very nice, those old straight sixes are torque monsters. I have a 90 tows anything without any trouble. Nice sound too. For an F-250 what's the different between that do an F-150? Bigger injectors, better leaf springs?

  • @Dshaws90fordf150

I cant find any difference on the motors, from a F-250 to a F-150,the difference is the 250 has heavier duty running gear,8 lug rims,as opposed to the 150s 5 lugs,I just put a Borg Warner T-18 in my F-150-96 model, and its like a whole different truck,it has balls now.

  • Yea I know that type of stuff. Thanks anyways though. Just curious. lol nice what is a Borg Warner T-18 though?

  • @Dshaws90fordf150 No, Just the drive train, axel, gears transmission. From what I read they all were built the same.

  • so which offy did you put on there? the dual plane or single plane? ive got the dual plane- still a little stumble at take off. sounds good! gotta love dem sixes!

  • was the cam worth it and is that the stock exhaust with a cam. it sounds good

  • Can you smoke tires from a roll with it yet?

  • With the gearing and locker rear I have, no I cant. But I can out haul a newer diesel fullsize truck. Most people want alot of Hp. But I like having massive torq. I can have 1.5 cords of wood in the bed, pulling a double axle trailer with 2 cords in it, and the engine cruises easly at 60mph and pulls great on hilly city streets.

  • Heh, nice. I bet if that engine found a home in my '85, with it's 2.49 Open and OD 4-speed, I could smoke a tire or two from a roll.

    How many miles on yours?

  • @tbg1977 Thats funny

  • @TestECull

    It's an F-250, not a Mustang...

  • how much HP does the cam give?

  • It doesn`n give much HP. But it does give alot of torque. I can now load the truck with wood to the top of the cab, and the engine barely feel it.

  • so theres noticable difference atleast?

Im doin a turbo on my 300, and im looking for a cam that'll open the valves up a lil' more top end, we all know thes things have plenty of low end. Thats why im doin the turbo, the motor has great low end, and the boost will make up more to end.

  • Run the exhaust through an X pipe. It will help the scavenging, and improve the flow.

  • dont need an X pipe. its a Inline 6

  • It does if you're running dual exhaust!

  • wouldnt you need a y-pipe for that? i say header, y-pipe, dual straight pipes the rest of the way. I6's have a purty sound that way.

  • Efi exhaust manifolds have a dual outlet. By running an X pipe, 5 scavenges 1, 6 scavenges 3, and 4 scavenges 2. The draw from the scavenging effect, makes horsepower! And more power sounds REAL "purty"!

  • Nice truck man, i like the 2 piece EFI manifold

  • I have a 1989 for 4.9 300 Can i change the head from an old six ?how many years did they use these blocks?

  • I would use a head off of another EFI truck to be on the safe side, I think the EFI 300 heads flowed a bit better. btw the 300 was used from 1965-1996.

  • Up till 96.

I put an 85 head on an 82 block so I could use pedestal rockers.

A more accurate, smoother running valvetrain.

As you know, the ovoid bolt holes in the pedestal rocker arms allow for precise geometry on the stem tip.

My compression is @ 205 psi. , all cyl.

Studs really don't give you an accurate valve stem tip to rocker stud tip centerline.

    Ball rockers are nonsense.

I'm not an expert, but i put @ 5000 mi. on this combo with no probs yet.

    Retain all emission stuff.

    It works.

  • can i use a better cam for my 300? its a 96. i cant find any that are computer controlled compatible

  • I got a 94 f150 with the 300 i6. They are the best. I love my truck.

  • why do you think there the best?

  • is there a such thing as a 300 modified? or is there just a 300

  • not trying to spam here but i have a 1968 mercury truck with a 300-6 in it i have 2 vids of it and im gonna take it out to do a 0-60 on it it blows the doors off my 6.2 diesel

  • I have a 93 F350 with the straight six also, it is a great motor

  • nice I like the sound. I got an '86 f250 with a 300 six in it. it's a 4x4 with a 4 speed. they should have put more 300 sixes on the 3/4 ton f250 chassis. the engine is by no means underpowered for a full size pickup engine.

  • what kind of muffler do you have on it?

  • Das issn Reihensechser :)

  • how you get it to sound so mean?

  • A large 3" exhaust pipe and a good cam.

  • inline six eh i have a straight six on my 250 looks nice tho bro :D

  • wt all internally did u do to the engine, cause im thinkin about cammin my 300 later on in the future and i dont kno if theres anything else that i NEED to do for it to work

  • The comp cam "Truck Power", works great. The cam gear was a pain to get off. I didn`t have the right puller. The offy intake was OK, I should of purchased the Clifford intake. Better Quality. The carb is a 450cfm Holley Truck Avenger. 500 CFM is good flow for the setup im running. Its alot of work and $, but worth it.

  • I wanted to see more of the truck. Love the motor, I have the same one. How do you have the exhaust set up? I love the way it sounds. 5 stars.

  • I used the EFI manifolds. A custom 2.5" Y pipe to 3". Then 3" to the flow through muffler , and out the passenger side.

  • nice

check out mine and tell me what you think ok?

  • 4.9 300 nice.
